Fellow travellers say Magaluf is great for…
If you have never heard of Magaluf then it is probably not for you. The Majorca resort is famous among clubbers, who arrive in their tens of thousands each year on package holiday deals. Magaluf is all about fun and action-packed nightlife, and it is not for the feint hearted. While it has endless sunshine and beautiful beaches, it also has some of the most intense nightspots in Europe, so is certainly not a place for those looking for rest and relaxation. It is also a distinctly young resort, with most people on holidays in Magaluf under thirty.
People come to Magaluf for the nightlife and you will be hard pressed to find a more explosive place to go clubbing and drinking. Most of the action takes place on the interlinking Main Strip and BCM Square, where the choice of bars, clubs and discos is almost endless. Some of the most famous names, such as Coyote Uglys, Baywatch Show Bar and Downunder, are usually packed most nights, but as competition is fierce, you’ll find plenty of places offering free drinks to tempt you inside. It is not all dance music, either, as most tastes are catered for and many of the clubs put on some wild entertainments, such as Rodeo competitions and live shows, and some top name DJs are often playing in one club or another.
While it may be tempting to spend all day recovering from an evening’s excess, holidays in Magaluf can be just as action packed in the day. The beach is where most people head, and you’ll find all sorts of activities going on from the usual watersports to booze cruises. During peak season, when most people arrive on their package holidays deals, the temperature rarely drops below 20 degrees centigrade, so if getting a suntan is your thing, you won’t struggle in Magaluf.
