Lesvos Holidays

Anaxos Holiday Reviews
Lesvos (Lesbos) is the third largest of the Greek islands and is located in the north-eastern Aegean Sea, a short distance from the Turkish mainland.

Lesvos has managed to retain much of its traditional Greek character mainly due to the low impact of tourism on the island. Therefore, most visitors come to experience the true flavour of Greece away from some of the more commercial resort developments that have appeared on the other popular Greek islands. Molivos is where most visitors tend to stay with plenty of tavernas, a sandy beach and a large Genoese fortress that overlooks the town. Other resorts on the island are Skala Eressos and Skala Kallonis both on the west coast.

Summer temperatures have been known to reach into the high 30s, especially during the months of July and August, with sunny weather lasting well into September.

Flights to the island land at the Mytilene International Airport which lies a few miles outside of the capital city.
