Holiday Watchdog: Las Palmas Reviews

As Las Palmas is the regional capital of Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, it is not surprising that this sprawling metropolis has all the feel of a Spanish city about it. It stretches from the old historical quarter in the south, centred on Vegueta with it’s restored cathedral, small ancient churches and museums, along a network of long boulevards towards the lively Santa Catalina, where you will find the wide restaurant lined beachfront promenade of Las Canteras Beach and the majority of Las Palma’s accommodation. The Santa Park is a large, cobbled, sun drenched square, which is a popular meeting place, with its pavement cafes and regular cultural events.
The sands at Las Canteras Beach, a 2 mile long stretch of soft golden sand with relatively calm waters, are the main tourist attraction of the city. | Holiday Reviews > Med Beach Resorts > Gran Canaria > Las Palmas Holiday
