The Leela Kovalam Beach is a luxurious property situated on its own private beach with a superb range of facilities. Three freshwater swimming pools, two restaurants, bar and a beach shack.
Built on three floors, the Jasmine Palace has been carefully designed and attractively furnished with great attention to detail by Sunil, the friendly owner. The rooms are all of a good size with twin beds, fridge, ceiling fan, mosquito machines, en suite tiled shower, wc and a balcony. Rooms with air conditioning are also available. The superior rooms in the new block also have individually controlled air conditioning, TV and are larger so can accommodate an extra bed for a child.
Rooms are twin or double bedded, simply furnished but comfortable, with ceiling fan, telephone, en suite shower and wc and balcony or terrace. Fridges are available on request. This property is not suitable for children.
The garden terrace rooms are at the front of the complex overlooking the coconut groves, and are bright and modern with double bed, telephone, air conditioning, shower/wc and a furnished terrace
Modern contemporary superior rooms are set within hillside cottages with elephant grass thatched roofs, offering a touch of luxury. Each one has twin or kingsize beds, air conditioning, ceiling fan, safety deposit box, TV, telephone, fridge, kettle, private bathroom with bath, shower and wc and large French windows leading onto a furnished balcony/terrace with garden view.
The light and airy rooms are basic, but comfortable and spacious. Each room features double or twin beds, private bathroom with shower and wc, ceiling fan, TV, safety deposit box and a furnished balcony or terrace with a pool view. Rooms with air conditioning are available at a supplement. A fourth bed is available for a child, however, this would be cosy.
Steps lead down through the well tended grounds to the golden sandy beach. The hotel restaurant looks out over the attractive gardens, pool and onto the sea. There is also a craft shop and Ayurvedic centre*. During busy periods, traditional theme nights are organised once a week. Safety deposit boxes are available in reception.
