- if possible stay in the city center as it will give you plenty of options for food, leisure, spas, shopping rather than getting stuck in a beach resor. Travelerash8788
- Make sure you take trips to the outer islands and north beaches. dunnman99
- Go to Upperstar restaurant across from the Hyatt Regency. Excellent service, tasteful design and internet at your table while you wait for your meal. mostarsko
- Look for a nice and good seafood restaurant and also ikan bakar stall at Tanjung Lipat RashidHasan
- bring a heat rub and bug repellent. Again, if you are for lovely Asian chaos, nightlife and shopping, this is not the place. ceberus
- stay at the Rasa Ria, and I mean stay there. No point to go to the city... unless you want to do a little light shopping and have a simple meal or two digitium
- Overall the city is clean of rubbish but it is run down with grubly uneven foothpaths. Clothes shopping is better tha Singapore. austandtheworld
- Go to the hot springs and the canopy walk 255060Sandy
- When in Kota Kinabalu, make sure you go to Mt. Kinabalu Park & Poring Hot Springs =) MegYap
