Travellers' top tips for Kamari
Beach
- take jelly shoes or surf board shoes (you can get them for £5) as there are lots of pebbles on beach...with the footwear you dont even notice them! poolmeds
- hike from the beach to Ancient Thira. Leave early and take LOTS of water to stay hydrated well. Visit the site...it's incredible! Michael_Travel
- When in Kamari, try the best and most authentic restaurant: Mistral (it is not on the main street, you have to find it on the secondary streets). Oanavoicu
- spend a little time finding the right beach chairs to rent. The ones attached to the beachfront hotels will also serve you food/drinks at your chair! Geekyblonde
- don't want major nightlife or sandy beaches billyridley
- visit the shop EG arts, a carpenter works in the shop, carving by hand the most intricate and beautiful traditional and modern sculptures MrsChristoff
- Look in the jewellery shops, they have some fantastic stuff in there! Clucky72
- Use the local buses they are good and cheap, also go to volcano and swim in hot springs. the massage on beach was great . bkb63
- Stay in the Atalos, eat in Almira, Sunshine, the Boathouse and have a drink in Mango. trayolfc
