In complete contrast to its neighbouring resort Laganas, Kalamaki is a quiet resort with a calming traditional charm. Located only 2km from the airport (subject to some aircraft noise) and 5km South of the capital, the resort’s main attraction is its long sandy beach where the rare Loggerhead turtle nests. The beaches are uncrowded and the resort is backed by mountains and extensive olive groves, making this resort perfect for those wanting a relaxing holiday, including families, couples and older holidaymakers. Although Kalamaki offers a good choice of restaurants and bars, those wanting busier nightlife are best to head into nearby Laganas.
