The stunning blue waters of Sithonia in Halkidiki The stunning blue waters of Sithonia in Halkidiki
Halkidiki is a peninsula in the north of the Greek mainland and lies to the south-east of Thessaloniki, Greece's second largest city. Sticking out into the Aegean Sea are its 3 smaller peninsulas; Kassandra, Sithonia and Mount Athos.

Halkidiki has remained largely unspoilt by over development and this has made it popular with families and couples looking for a relaxing break. The region also benefits from over 300 miles of coastline and over 40 beaches being awarded the coveted Blue Flag for safety and cleanliness. For nightlife the resort of Kalithea on the Kassandra peninsula is the place to go.

Flights land at the Airport Macedonia near Thessaloniki. From here it is approximately a 90 minute drive to the Kassandra peninsula where most of the holiday resorts are located.
