Travellers' top tips for Guanacaste Beach
  • make sure and goto Conchal(sp?)beach just north of Tamarindo. About a 15 minute drive. travelingfamily79
  • Tamarindo is a quaint little beach town. it's not like USA beach towns. there's some bars and good restaurants, but it's still pretty quiet. CarrieF1
Food & Drink
  • make the 11km drive to Playa Avellanas to have lunch at Lola's. viaggiare
  • go to Seasons for dinner one night and spend a day at the Langosta Beach Club. LPratscher
Nightlife
  • Get out and enjoy the nightlife robmcchlery
  • Tamarindo is more of a couples and singles area. Lots of nightlife. Families would best enjoy Manuel Antonio area. Kebud
Shopping
  • When in Tamarindo, be sure you shop at all the different stores before purchasing. Their prices can vary sometimes up to 3 or 4 dollars on some items. Myavonne

Weather
  • put on repellent. The mosquitoes were viscous. Dress cool, it was HOT. If you want to learn surfing check out Kelly's surf shop. greetingsfromdenver
  • wear flat shoes, dress extremely casually and for hot weather. Be prepared for unpaved roads, broken and no sidewalks, and LOTS of dust!! GranadaHillsAudrey
