Las Palmas city and harbour in Gran Canaria Las Palmas city and harbour in Gran Canaria
Gran Canaria sits in the centre of the Canary Islands between Fuerteventura and Tenerife, and is the third largest of the Islands. It has a pleasant year round climate making it an ideal holiday destination for both winter as well as summer holidays.

The main resorts can all be found in the south which has long sandy beaches and volcanic scenery. This is a complete contrast to the green forests and plantations found in the north of the island which receives more rain than the south of the island. The Playa del Ingles resort is the most popular and lively with numerous clubs and bars. Families usually opt for the safe beaches of Puerto Rico which also offers some of the best watersports on the island.

Flights to the island land at Gran Canaria Airport, also known as Las Palmas airport.
