Holiday Watchdog: Golden Sands Reviews
Golden Sands is situated between Albena and Sveti Konstantin, and is approximately 25km from Varna airport. Bulgaria's second largest resort after Sunny Beach, Golden Sands is a purpose built town which stretches along the coast for over 3km. Golden Sands is a hilly resort not recommended for holidaymakers with walking difficulties and is favoured by families and couples wanting a simple beach holiday.
The beach is golden sand and shallow water which shelves gently making this a perfect resort for families with children. There are also a number of lifeguards on the beach. There is no real shopping to speak off, just an array of stalls. During the day most activities are centred around the beach. Minigolf and private swimming alos available. Nightlife is limited too - there are a few lively bars in resort and a casino in the town centre.
Most restaurants in resort are based in hotels. There are a number of snack bars serving fast food and most places are good value.
A minitrain operates around resort and taxis and buses to Varna are available in the resort centre. |
