Funchal is well known for its rather grand and glamorous hotels, but good quality self-catering accommodation is still frustratingly hard to find, so Quinta Mãe dos Homens is a laudable exception. Standing in an elevated position above the town, the Quinta has been owned by the same family for nearly two centuries. The original manor house still serves as the family's private residence, but the former outbuildings have been converted into attractive, modern apartments, with a tasteful new extension providing additional accommodation.
The well equipped studio style rooms on offer here make the Terrace Mar Apartments an extremely popular holiday choice. 800 metres from the Lido with its pools and cafe bars. Approx. 2.1 km from Funchal centre and within 500 metres of local restaurants, music bars and shops. Unfortunately, the location of the complex is unsuitable for customers with walking difficulties.
