Set within a 100-acre domain, El Establo is one of three houses (the others being La Casa Grande and La Casa Pequeña) created by Frenchman Michel, a musician with an artist's discerning eye for beauty. Cleverly converted from the old stable block which sits by the entrance to Los Algarrobales, El Establo blends rustic simplicity with comfort in an interior resplendent with Andalucían ceramics and artefacts.

The spectacular setting of Los Algarrobales and the dedication to comfort and style displayed by its owner, Michel, have made this deliciously rural hideaway a firm favourite with Simply Spain guests since the launch of our very first brochure. In response to our requests for a similar retreat designed specifically for couples, Michel created Le Paradis (see page 103), and this proved to be so popular - with many guests visiting in the spring booking straight away to return later in the year! We are therefore delighted that Michel agreed to build another four further cottages, sharing their own lovely swimming pool, on his estate.

La Casa Grande hugs the hillside like a beacon to the spirit of Al Andaluz, offering up its delights for your pleasure - be it reclining on silk cushions in its minaret-like tower, sipping mint tea and admiring the marvellous views or maybe reposing on the Alhambra-esque patio. The tinkle of the fountain is a wonderful salve for stressed urbanites and each corner of the house has been designed to enchant and soothe.

A perfect cosy cottage for two. La Casa Pequeña is the perfect hideaway - a tiny cottage swathed in pink geraniums, nestling at the foot of a mountain, offering a rare treat in its lovely gardens - an intimate swimming pool just for two. Scented shrubs and lemon trees encircle the lapping blue waters of the pool where colourful recliners have been set out for your delectation on dreamy afternoons.

Couple-sized Moorish-style cottages in an idyllic rural corner of Andalucía. Situated three kilometres down a mountain track from the traditional 'pueblo blanco' of El Gastor, this remote location means that Le Paradis is not suited to those in search of bright lights or even a wide range of local facilities, but anyone in search of authenticity and tranquillity will treasure this unspoilt paradise. Created by Michel, the talented owner of Los Algarrobales, in response to our pleas for 'somewhere lovely for couples'. Each house is decorated to reflect the region's rich cultural heritage, with interiors filled with Arab rugs and artefacts, and walls adorned with Moorish ceramics and materials.
