Positioned on the north–east coast of Spain, in the Catalonia region, the Costa Dorada (Golden Coast) runs south from the Costa Brava and incorporates over 150 miles of coastline.

The numerous resorts that make up the Costa Dorada offer something for every traveller. Sitges, with its festivals and carnivals draws the party crowds whereas Cambrils, being a traditional fishing town, provides a more relaxed holiday environment. Salou, with its Blue Flag awarded beaches, frantic nightlife and PortAventura theme park manages to encompass aspects of all the other resorts at the same time appealing to both families and revellers alike.

Day trips to Barcelona and the Roman ruins at Tarragona are among some of the sightseeing options available to those wanting a break from lazing on the beach.

Benefitting from a Mediterranean climate the Costa Dorada has long, hot summers with temperatures easily reaching 30°C during July and August.

International flights typically land at Barcelona’s El Prat airport with some smaller budget airlines landing at Reus airport.
