The Costa Brava (Wild Coast) is a coastal region in Spain which stretches from Blanes in the north-east up to the French border. With its great beaches, many of which have received the Blue Flag award for cleanliness, and favourable summer climate it is a popular package holiday destination for tourists from Northern Europe particularly those from France and the United Kingdom.

Although in some areas over-development has occurred, traditional fishing ports and medieval villages can still be found along the coastline. For nature lovers there are a number of national parks to explore, while the sports enthusiasts can choose from activities such as horse riding, mountain biking, hiking and more. Families are drawn to the area due to its many safe beaches and water parks with the young party crowds flocking to Lloret de Mar for the vibrant night life.

The Costa Brava has also attracted many artists including Joan Miró and Pablo Picasso as well as being the home of the famous Spanish artist Salvador Dali.

Arrivals by plane land at Girona airport from which all the resorts along the Costa Brava can be reached via the A7 motorway.
