Corfu Holidays
Corfu Town and Harbor with ships leaving the harbor in the background
Located just off the West coast of Greece, Corfu is the most northerly, and second largest, of the Ionian Islands. Hot and dry summers and wet winters mean the island has lush vegetation which includes over 2 million olive trees, thus making it the greenest of all the Greek islands.
Originally a popular tourist destination for European royals, Corfu was one of the first of the Greek islands to capture the British package holiday market. With safe beaches for children in Agios Georgios and wild nightlife in Kavos for the young crowd, Corfu has something to offer all of its visitors.
Most holidaymakers choose to visit between June and September with the months of October through to May being susceptible to rain.
Visitors arriving by plane land at Corfu International Airport, also known as Ioannis Kapodistrias, which lies around 2 miles to the south of Corfu Town.
