Cisternino Holidays
A comfortable 19th-century trullo set in lovely gardens just outside the whitewashed hilltop town of Cisternino. Built in 1877, Trullo Giardino is actually five trulli linked together so the double and twin bedrooms, the shower room and the living room with its adjacent kitchen all sit under attractive cone-shaped ceilings.
This completely private four-bedroom villa, half of which lies under the distinctive conical trullo roofs, lies just 1.5km from lovely Cisternino. Villas with private swimming pools are a rarity in the whole of Italy, and trulli with their own pools are almost unheard of in Puglia. Nevertheless, the good local contacts of Simply Italy brought just this kind of property to our attention and a very special one it is too.
Villa Raggio di Sole is set in the heart of the Pugliese countryside, accessed along a narrow country lane. Great care has been taken to restore and redecorate the villa in keeping with a classic, Pugliese style and there are many special touches that the owners have included to give it a homely feel.
