Holiday Watchdog: Cala D Or Reviews
Cala D'or lies on the South-East coast of Majorca, 60 km from Palma and the airport. The resort is based around 8 or 9 small coves that go by the collective name of Cala D'or.
A purpose built and continually expanding resort, Cala D'Or is attracts smart and sophisticated couples and families too. Unfortunately due to the hilly ground, this is not a resort for those with walking difficulties. There are a number of self catering properties as well as many middle class hotels.
During the day holidaymakers flock to the beaches, which can become overcrowded at wekeends and peak times. Watersports, hiking, cycling, golf, horse riding and day trips are all available locally. Nightlife is fairly low key although there are a few music bars and discotheques.
Eating out can be expensive, especially in the Marina Area at Cala Llonga. Good choice of cuisine ranging from fresh seafood and paella to British burger bars and fast food joints.
Cala D'Or has good bus connections to Palma, Felantix and Cala Mondrago.
