Benalmadena lies on Spain's south coast at the centre of the Costa del Sol, only 18km Southwest of Malaga airport. The purpose built resort is backed by the rolling hills of the Sierra Mijas between Fuengirola and Torremolinos. There are better beaches in other parts of the Costa del Sol - the sandy sections of Benalmadena are between prominent rocks and are close to the busy main coastal road.
There are many 3* - 5* hotels in resort with more self-catering complexes being developed to cater for increasing number of families visiting the area in high season. There is plenty to do by day and by night: Tivoli World amusement park, sealife centre at the marina, Paloma Park and a yacht club. The hotel Torrequebrada has a large nightclub and casino. |
