Barbados Holidays
East Coast of Barbados on a gorgeous summers day.
Bordered between the calm waters of the Caribbean Sea on its east coast and the turbulent Atlantic Ocean on its west coast, Barbados is one of the most popular destinations in the Caribbean.
The island itself is divided into 11 parishes each having its own distinct character with the capital, Bridgetown, located in the west coast parish of St. Michael. For nightlife, tourists and locals alike meet and merge at St. Lawrence Gap which is situated around 3 miles outside of the capital.
Being a coral island, Barbados is a great place to go snorkelling and diving and with over 60 miles of white sandy beaches it has a lot to offer holiday makers looking for either a relaxing break or an activity filled adventure.
Most visitors choose to visit Barbados during its dry season between December and June. Average temperatures are in the high 20s with very little rain. From July the wet season begins bringing with it high humidity, showers and even the possibility of a hurricane. With this in mind it is always best to check the weather before planning a trip during this period.
Flights land at Grantley Adams International in the south-east of the island around 8 miles from Bridgetown.
