The country of Andorra lies in the Pyrenees, landlocked between France and Spain. With a land area around 180 square miles it is one of the smallest countries in the world.

Andorra’s main income is derived from tourism, specifically ski resorts. Over 9 million tourists visit the country each year with most heading to the popular resorts of Soldeau, El Tarter, Pas de la Casa and Arinsal. Among these resorts visitors can find pistes with varying degrees of difficulty as well as having instructors on hand providing classes for all levels of skiing ability. Off the slopes there are many bars and nightclubs spread throughout the resorts as well as an abundance of shops where various products can be bought duty-free.

Most resorts open for business around the start of December and remain open until early May. Outside of the winter season Andorra offers many summer activities including mountain biking, hiking, horse riding and white water rafting, to name but a few.

Andorra does not have its own airport so most visitors arrive via Barcelona Airport in Spain or Toulouse Airport in France. The journey to Andorra is then continued by hire car, bus or train.
