A beautifully restored 19th-century house in a tranquil village setting. The eponymous villa occupies a 19th-century village building which adjoins the neighbouring house, and has been beautifully restored in keeping with its venerable age. Many of its original features remain intact, such as the fireplace, thick stone walls and the old oven with its massive chimney.

Casa Tonica is a well appointed villa in an excellent, quiet location offering rural views and the chance to explore the 'real' Portugal. Three kilometres from the centre of Alte, guests will find this villa the perfect retreat, with only a half hour stroll or five minute drive needed to reach the pretty village's restaurants, bars and shops. The owner has renovated the villa throughout and tastefully decorated it too, leaving us very much impressed even after many years' experience in the Algarve.
