About Algarve
With continual sunshine, and low rainfall in the summer months, the Algarve is a perfect holiday location at any time of the year. Stretching along Portugal's south coast for more than 90 miles, and with over 100 beaches, it is a very popular destination for both local and foreign tourists.Resorts such as Praia da Rocha appeal to families looking to avoid the noisy nightlife which is prevalent in the more energised resort of Albufeira. For golf enthusiasts there are over 30 courses available, with some resorts offering golf packages as part of your stay. There are also a number of theme parks and water parks for families to keep their children entertained.
Temperatures during the summer tend to sit around the mid 20s although they have been known to reach well into the 30s.
Faro airport is situated just over 1.5 miles west of the city of Faro.

- Albufeira: Try and get to Lagos, lovely. Go into the monchique mountains and bypass Albufeira strip unless its kebabs and alcopops your'e after - by Ash51

- Oeiras: The beaches can be windy a lot in July. Fado anywhere in Alfama is a nice experience, but expensive with dinner. AN3Norway
- Albufeira: visit the following restaurants O Manjar and Al Mareado. Also worthwhile is a boat trip from the marina. we enjoyed the one to the caves jomick
- Praia Da Rocha: Go for a Chinese meal, it was excellent. You can't miss it near the Irish Bars StrayCas
- Oeiras: go to Bairro Alto. It's the neighborhood where the nightlife happens and it's just a lot of fun going out there. MikesMicrowave
- Albufeira: go to the old town for meals and "the strip" for night life, its only 6 euros in a taxi between the two redrobbono1
- Oeiras: beware of pickpockets on tourist buses (eg. bus 15 that takes you to the famous eggtart shop) rollingturtles
- Vilamoura: Go to the Gypsy Market in Quateria or Albufeira 186411Carol
