Agios Nikolaos lies on the Northeast coast of Crete. This is probably the island's most established tourist resort and is still centred around a working port and busy yachting marina. Agios Nikolaos is not recommended for those wanting a quiet holiday; it has a great nightlife and an abundance of restaurants and bars. There are two beaches which are small with grey sand and pebbles. For those who enjoy shopping, don't miss the weekly local market or busy reosrt centre for boutiques selling leather goods, ceramics and jewellery.

Ammoudi beach is just a short distance and the nearest shops, bars and tavernas are just a few minutes away, with the resort centre about a 15 minute walk.

Virginia Studios & Apartments
Peacefully located 5 kilometres from Aghios Nikolaos, about 20 minutes walk from the small sandy beach at Ammoudara, this smart complex, with numerous steps! has its own swimming pool, snack bar, and mini-market. It’s approached by a steep path from the main road about 70 metres away. There are a number of studios for two to three people some of them are split level, and two-bedroom apartments for up to six people one twin, one double with typical Cretan style stone based beds meaning twins can’t be pushed together and either one or two sofa beds in the living area.
