Maribel Villa Reviews

We stayed at the Maribel Villa's for a week as a family and it was nice & relaxing. Everyting about it was lovely, clean, tidy and private with your own pool! There's not much around the villas apart from a Spar supermarket and the odd spanish bar on the beach, but its fine if you are lazing by the pool! There is one restuarant close by called the Steak House which is lovely. All other bars and restaurants are approx 15 minute walk, it is worth it if you like to have a drink and it is a bit more lively. I would definatley recommend the Maribel restuarant, lovely food and very friendly staff!

10/10 again. The cleanliness and maintenance of these Villas is second to none and Santandria is just out of this world. Sa Quadra (the steak house in the caves) is a MUST but closes at the end of September for the season. Pity. I could dine there every day of the week. Ciutadella is not too far away, and is a beautiful little town and absolutely bustles with a fab market on a Saturday morning but the town is even lovelier when it is quiet. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for anyone, and they just love children. I hope my daughter is booking again for 2008, a long weekend is just not long enough for me. I need the fortnight.

Could not fault the villa at all. It was exactly as described online and was very clean and spacious with plenty of storage space. Although we didn't expect it our towels and bedlinen was changed 3 days into the holiday and the pool was also cleaned out once during our week stay. We also saw a few ants marching from the pool to the ground floor bathroom but bought some ant spray and the problem was solved. We 'adopted' a mother cat and her 3 kittens for the week, then discovered other families were feeding them also, so they were certainly well fed.
The resort itself was very quiet as it was the last week of the season, but the shops and restaurants which remained open, were all very good. We did try the Sa Nacra bar as recommended by another reviewer and the food was good with stunning views. Unfortunately the steak house and the restaurant set within the caves (can't remember the name) were both closed for the winter, so we didn't get to try them. Santandria beach is only small but is in a stunning location with clear calm waters.
The only thing to let us down was the weather (it rained for 2 days), but then again this is October!. Would definitely visit these villas again but perhaps in July/August when the weather is better (only thing is, that then the beaches would be very crowded!).

We highly recommend these villas. Very clean and well kept. Every appliance you'd ever need in the kitchen, if you can be bothered to cook/iron.
Having your own pool was fantastic for the kids and not too cold for mum to take a dip in either. We hired a car for four days and visited a different beach each day.
The sea is clear and our 6 year old daughter was constantly in it with her fishing net and bucket! A very quiet resort which was lovely but very little entertainment at night.
We did manage to see the parrot show...twice. Very friendly staff in restaurants etc.
Would definitely revisit.

We found these villas to be fantastic, more than 4 stars. Everything you could want, there was even an iron.
We arrived at 12.00 at night and did not know what to expect, very pleasantly surprised. Three bedrooms were very spacious and all were kept clean. Two bathrooms were excellent and very handy if you have an extended family.
The pool was cold but you did get used to it, I don’t know if it would be different in July and August. The villas are in a very quiet area (which is what we wanted). If you fancy a lively resort, Cala n Bosh, or Cala N Forcat are excellent.
There was a washing machine in the villa which was very convenient (managed to break it the first time I used it). Reported it to reception at the Maribel apartments and found the workmen at our villa within 10 minutes. Excellent service.
We did find ants crawling about from the downstairs bathroom to the bedroom on the night we landed, but there was ant killer spray in the cupboard which did the job and never saw them again. You will find ants at the pool when it is cooler, disappeared when it was very warm.
My only regret was leaving. Definitely would go back.

Went there July 2006 with husband 51, son 23 his girlfriend 23,daughets 13 and 14.
Great holiday, plenty of space and the plus of having your own pool.
Rather small town and very quiet, even in July a lot of places seemed to be closed.
As we didn’t have a car we were limited to where we went but used either taxis which are cheap or buses.
Plenty of places to eat out, went to a "temptations" night out in one of the local hotels and it was brilliant. The meal was also included it was great value. Would recommend you go see it was organised by the Mirabel hotel.
Overall I would recommend these villas, though they are very expensive cost us nearly £4,000 for 2 weeks. Would go again but might have to wait to win the lottery first.

I had never been to Spain before. Said I would never go, not even on a free holiday.
Well, my daughter and her family stayed in these villas and invited me over for a long weekend in May 06. I have relived every moment of that lovely weekend over and over again.
And as soon as she told me she had booked the villas again for 2007, I didn't wait to be invited, I invited myself for another long weekend.
Can thoroughly recommend them, the previous comments regarding spaciousness, cleanliness etc are all very true. I can't recommend highly enough.
One word of warning though. Don't stand out in the garden of the villa at 05.00 am admiring the dawn and listening to the birds - the sprinklers come on at that time and is that water cold! :-)

We have just returned from our holiday and had a brilliant time. The villa was excellent as it was spacious, clean and well maintained. It was great having a pool to ourselves and the kids loved it. When the kids were tired they watched the kids channels on the Sky TV. The actual resort was very quiet however we preferred this. The nearby beach wasn't too busy and there were some very good restaurants.
We walked into the nearby town of Cala Blanca most days as it had lovely restaurants overlooking its beach. One restaurant/bar had flumes for the kids to play on whilst the adults relaxed and watched. We have already re-booked these villas for our holidays next year and would thoroughly recommend them. The only downside of the whole holiday was the fact that the price varied significantly, depending on where you fly from.
Our nearest airport is Glasgow, however, we saved £700 by flying from Newcastle and having booked the villa again for July 2007, we have saved over £900 by again flying from Newcastle instead of Glasgow.

We have just returned from the above villa and we must say that they are fantastic!

Clean, spacious and well decorated. We will definitely return. 2 children aged 10 and 14 thoroughly enjoyed the large pool to themselves, granddad enjoyed the peace and quiet and my husband and I enjoyed the pomada!! A great place to stay. The sea was clean and clear with the fish swimming freely around our feet.

The restaurants were good and reasonably priced. Hire a bike and explore. A fantastic family holiday.

We were lucky to stay in these villas in June for 2 weeks last year.

They are by far the best standard of accommodation I have stayed for the price paid. I had a 5 month baby with us and the washing machine was a God send ! The private individual pools are also great with a fantastic bbq area.

We are going back next year. You really must try.
Advice: It's the place the local Spanish visit at the weekends so it MUST be good
Activities: Sa Quadra for presentation, Jenny's Place for value and, of course, the Maribel itself.
