This was my first visit to the Liberty apartments, we had a warm welcome after a 5 hour delay from our flight so we did not arrive until the early hours of the morning.
The apartments were ready for us, both had a pool view as we requested, they were clean and very roomy.
All the staff (including cleaners) were very hospitable throughout the stay.
The pool area and poolside bar were cleaned everyday except sunday, but that did not matter because the people staying there were all respectful of the staff and kept it reasonably clean.
The other guests were very pleasant and greeted us which made the stay even more accommodating.
The apartments are situated in a prime area with easy access to the Yumbo centre (5 min walk)and taxi's galore right outside the door if you needed one.
My only gripe, and it is a small one, the breakfast, which cost 5 euros could have been a little bigger, this was not a problem though because we were able to walk to the Yumbo centre and have a full breakfast for the same price.
All in all, we had a fabulous stay at the Liberty, we made new friends and would definately stay there again.

The other reviews sum it up very well, small and quiet.
We went self catering and the room are a decent size and absolutely immaculate. The front desk is always staffed (english speaking too which makes thngs easier) and the pool is a good size and well maintained and the pool bar sells cheap food in the day and drinks with very friendly staff.
It's only a 5-10 minute stroll to the beach (or a taxi for a couple of euros)and about a minutes walk to the amazing Yambo center with lots of shopping places and bars and inparticular the amazing Sparkles show bar on the first floor. Free entry and they put on a brilliant show each night.
I'd have expected to pay a lot more money for the apartment room than I did and would definitely stay there again were I to go back as it's a real bargain.

We stayed at the Liberty Apartments in June for 2 Weeks. The apartment was a good size clean and very well equiped. The pool and pool area was also very clean and there was plenty of sunbeds although there seemed to be a lot of broken ones. The staff on reception, Paucho and MoAugyples were very friendly and helpfull. We would stay here again but being a couple in our late 50s we would be going earlier than we did. The Gran Chapperall is a fantastic place 2 eat out with lots of places to choose from. Fab English pub there called Wembly's, well worth a visit, DJ Terry is brill. All in all we had a lovely holiday and we would stay at the Liberty Apartments again.

We originally booked to stay at the sun gardens hotel in maspalomas but we didn’t feel safe there because the apartments got broken into four times in just over a week. It didn’t help that they didn’t have a reception or 24 hour security or key cards and the fact the just said it happens all the time.
Anyway we moved hotels and stayed in the liberty for the last four nights of our holidays. We had a fabulous holiday, made all the better by the Liberty Apartments. When we arrived the man on reception was very helpful and he was very helpful until we left for the airport. The rooms were lovely and clean and very spacious. The beds were so comfy I wanted to bring ours home. The room has a wide range of cutlery, a microwave, a coffee maker, a toaster. They have a TV with limited channels which are free or you can pay for sky which is a Euro an hour. We had a road view It was noisy with the balcony door open but it’s was fine when the door was closed. We only went on our balcony to hang washing out. The room has two big fans on the selling of the bed room and the sofa area so you don’t need doors or windows open. You could also pay for air con but the fans were great we didn’t need to.
The pool was lovley. The pool bar played music which wasn’t to loud they played a mix of old music and chart music. The sunbeds adjust and there are enough sun umbrellas for everyone. I would recommend getting a sunlounger along the back wall as you got the sun until around 6pm. The snack bar is great for snacks and drinks.
The hotel is near supermarkets and restraunts. The supermarket next door it’s really expensive. There is a spar just to the left around the corner which has everything. The hard rock cafe is great for food I think ours came to 40 euros the burgers are ut of this world. The steak house El Gaucho was lovely think out bill came to 70 euros but you get what you pay for.
We didn’t really like playa Del ingles it reminded us of Blackpool but it’s not too bad if you stay away from the bit where you go down escalators. Play Del ingles beach isn’t that nice.Masaplomas have some lovely resrtaunts along the front the Chinese food was better than back home. The beach in maspolomas is out of this world and the dunes are amazing. The apartments have Internet its 1 Euro for 16 minuets or 2 euros for 32minuets but I found it really slow I think it was windows 98. A lot of people on here have said they got money stolen. Its common sense to rent a safe on holiday for all your valuables. Also speak to staff how you would want to be talked to as I found some gests were very rude. Will defiantly go back to these apartments if we Eva go back to gran caneria.

Great honeymoon!!

Me and my now wife booked these apartments for our honeymoon in sept this year, after reading the reviews about robberies and such we were very worried.
When we arrived at 4am we were greeted by a receptionist who spoke no english at all and it took ages 4 us to finally find our room, we stayed 4 two weeks and never saw this man again. On entering the room we were pleasantly suprised as it was very clean and spacious. After the initial worries we found the manager pancho very polite and spoke very good english, he was also very helpful and pleasant.
The pool area was kept extremeley clean and there was no shortage of sunloungers although i would reccomend getting a sunlounger along the back wall as you got the sun untill around 6pm. Also food and drink is very good at the pool bar it is quite expensive.
Our room was on the 2nd floor and faced the main road, although it was quite noisey with the balcony door open it was fine when the door was closed.
The apartments are very gay friendly although during our stay there were lots of straight couples, gay couples and families and everyone enjoyed everyone elses company.
As for restaurants i would definateley reccomend the long boat chinese and the martel house steak house in the yumbo centre and for pub grub or light lunches i would say buddies also in the yumbo, and for a great breakfast and english tv the brittania in the chapperal centre. For football watching the windmill in the chapperal is great....all good value for money and very friendly.
All in all we had a great time and would reccomend it to anybody, we will definateley be returning!!!

just got back from staying at the liberty apartments with my husband, after reading the reviews before i went about the theft and other stuff i was a bit put off!h t but i have to say that i was pleasantly surprised! the apartment was very roomy but then it slept 4 people and there was only the 2 of us spotlessly clean and on the 2nd floor poolside hubby even cooked a full breakfast in the small kitchenette (but forgot to out the extractor fan on which sent the smoke alarms off and had the staff knocking the door thinking there was a fire)there were lots of sunbeds available even though the apartments were fairly busy the maid service was very good, would reccomend getting a taxi to the beach though not far it is quite a walk didn't like the fact that they kick you off the sunbeds on the beach at 5 o,clock sharpe didn't tell us when we paid for them and didn't tell us until 5 mins before! the apartments are only literally only around the corner from the yumbo centre we had a great time at sparkles the bar staff are fab and friendly!also went to the kasbar happy hour is 2 for 1 drinks of the local alcohol but you need to have 2 because the local stuff is so weak and full of ice that it has no taste! we tried a few places to eat out and shenanigans was probably the best place we had the fish and chips which was the best meal we eaten all holiay but roma the italian restaurant on the baech front was also good! all in all we had a great holiday the most amusing thing at the apartments is as always the people that never leave the apartments in the day these are the same holiday makers that go down to put their towels on the same sunbeds in the exact same spot every day! holidays are supposed to be a break from the norm! it would probably ruin their whole day if someone else chose the spot they usually have!we couldn't fault the accomadation and we never had anything stolen but then im not stupid enough to leave money and valuables lying about!

My friend and me stayed at the...

My friend and me stayed at the liberty apartments 30th of august - 13th of September this year.
When we arrived there we were disappointed to find we were facing the road which was quiet noisy especially after we had requested a pool view, how ever after talking to the lovely receptionist pancho or banjo as we called him, he got us moved to a beautiful 3rd floor pool view, which meant we could even see the sea from our balcony.
The rooms are small but big enough for 2 people to live comfortably. The maids come practically everyday, every two days at the least, we checked in on the Saturday, which meant we got our towels changes, Saturday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, for both of the weeks we were there.
The maids are quiet friendly however sometimes they do come quiet early in the morning, if your in bed they will just shut your bedroom door and clean the rest of your apartment, mind you they don’t clean it as good as they would if you were out.
Our corridor was really quiet, however I know the 1st floor was very loud and many people on that floor received warnings.
The pool is small but relatively nice, its quiet cold when you first get in but soon warms up, the water is salt water but not to salty. I recommend getting a bed along the back all, it may be shaded first thing on a morning but by dinner time the sun is beaming on you and the sun lasts there until around 6pm.
Food from the pool bar is nice, and lunchtime you can get chicken burger or plain burger with chips and a small drink for 5euros 50cents which is around £4.50 they also do from half 4 until half 5 happy hour at the bar were you can get 2 pints of something for the price of one, cant remember what it was though sorry.
When we were there we did see 1 group of teenagers get there room over booked and they were going to have to be moved, how ever this did get resolved.
We got a safety deposit box, for the 2 weeks it was 30 euros, 40 but you get 10 back when you hand the key back in. and we had no problems at all.
The apartments have Internet it is 1euro for 16 minuets or 2euros for 32 you can also get 8 minuets for 50 cent but it doesn’t tell you that.
When we were there the water did go off for around 2days and it was really cold. No hot water at all, and when it did come back on, the shower kept going hot and cold. However this did get resolved and everything was fine.
I advise you to take your own tin opener, as the one in the draw is really old fashioned you have to try and stab it, in the lid and pull the tin open. Haha.
If you’re self-catering and looking to buy food DO NOT SHOP AT THE SUPERMARKTS, they’re really expensive. There is one right out side the apartments and it will rip your eyes out. Its good for the odd thing but not if your wanting to by numerous items.
If you go out of the apartments and turn left and walk towards a round about, go straight over at the roundabout, you will come to another roundabout, go straight over there and there is a spar on your right. That’s brilliant; it’s about a 5/10min walk from the liberty apartments max.
Me and my friend both liked to eat out most of the time, and we found a few lovely restaurants and a few not so nice. If you keep walking past the spar you will find a restaurant called mobeys or mobey dicks. There meals are really nice and they do beautiful Sunday lunches.
We also found a beautiful steak house called el gancho, it is highly recommended to you by Tomas cook and we know why its simply mouth watering. It is expensive but you get what you pay for.
There is also a lovely Chinese restaurant next to the Barbados apartments, again close to the spar, which is really nice.
The dyanas Indian restaurant in the other hand we found to be not very nice.
For a night out we went to the yumbo centre, if you come out of the apartments and turn left and follow the road around to your left, go straight down that path until you see the hard rock café and then follow it around to your right. The red cow restaurant is also down there, which I see a few people have said is nice, however we never went there. The best night in the yumbo, now this is going to sound weird is a Wednesday.
That is English night. Most people start at diamonds and then go to one of the drag bars we liked sparkles. There is also fiction and cocaloca and Ricky’s who are really good bars.
Heavens the nightclub opens around 3. Its 5 euros to get in and you get a free drink. This is the gay nightclub. It’s amazing.
A Saturday night is good, but I wouldn’t advise you to go clubbing as its all Spanish.
We didn’t really like playa del ingles beach, how ever we found a beautiful beach in Anfi, you get a bus from next to the spar, it’s the number 39 to Porto rico, its 2 euros 50cent each way so 5 euros return and u get off just after a dolphin centre, a lot of people get off there though, so just listen. That beach is out of this world, white sand made from crushed coral.
Over all we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back again.

me and my partner have just got back from staying at the liberty apartments, its our 10th visit to playa del ingles but was our first stay at these apartments. The rooms are very nice, good space, comftable beds and generally clean. The staff were friendly and the food at the pool bar was very nice.We did not like the swimming pool it is no way big enough for the amount of people that stay at these apartments, also there are no rules as to what you can take into the pool so on many days it was crowded with people on lilos, rubber rings and on one day a large inflatable boat ! If you fancied a swim it became very difficult. The pool bar played music which was great when it was first thing in the morning as it was at a nice level but as more and more people arrived at the pool the music got louder and louder and did become very annoying at times especially if you like to read a book or just relax. We felt this sent out the wrong message to everyone staying at these apartments as people were very noisey alot of the time, many large groups stay at the liberty as they can book it cheap on the internet.People around the pool were very loud and at night there was always noise with inconsiderate people banging doors, scrapping furniture and our lovely neighbours having a party on the balcony at 4am ! To be fair to the Liberty we complained to the night guard,he came up and told them to be quiet and the very next morning we were informed that they had been given a warning.I think its two warnings here and then you are asked to leave,so dont be afraid to complain if someone is spoiling your holiday. For 3 days of our stay we had no hot water and for one of the mornings no water at all,we had to clean our teeth with the water we had in the fridge and could not flush the toilet. We were told that they were trying to sort it out and there was nothing they could do.We are not snobby people at all and many nights partied until 5am but we were decent and came back quietly and there are days by the pool when you just like some peace and quiet. If you are going on holiday after a nice pool and to relax then We would not recommend this as the place to stay,it is true you do get what you pay for but if it is all the budget you can stretch to then take some ear plugs.

Had a fabulous holiday, made all the...

Had a fabulous holiday, made all the better by the Liberty Apartments. It was just me and my boyfriend, both 18, looking for a relaxing (non drinking) holiday (already been to magaluf this year lol) although the Kasbah is a great place for drinking if thats what you want. Playa del Ingles and the Liberty are very good for families and young people.
The room was spacious and clean. Only thing I would recommend is a cloth for washing up lol, although the maids do it, they dont do it very well at all. They were the only thing I didnt like about the place, they were very rude. The rest of the staff were great, my boyfriend got along with the day receptionist and night receptionist very well lol.
Only problem was the air conditioning (which you need by the way!!!) it obviously didnt break very much because the maintenance men had no idea what to do, but they switched our rooms very quickly.
I would recommend a saftey deposit box, I wouldnt trust the maids, but it doesnt cost much.
The pool was lovely, and the location was great also, but if you want a good place by the pool, go down at about 10 to get ur loungers. Except that the front side of the hotel faced a busy main road, so if you like peaceful balcony time, ask for a pool side room, it has a lovely view as well.
I would recommend the Yumbo centre for shopping, and restaurants (although there isnt many) it has alot of bars, but if you're not a fan of Drag Queens I wouldnt recommend it lol.
YOU HAVE TO TRY THE OLYMPIA, a small restaurant in the Gran Chapperal Centre . Its small, but the staff are so friendly, and the food is amazing.
Also try ROMA, its on the sea front as has gorgoeus food. Taxis are very cheap, 3 euros will take you to the beach, the drivers know ehre everything is really, so jsust ask for Roma.
We booked alot of trips, I would HIGHLY recommend them all.
SIOUX CITY, an old country and western film set, where you can walk around, there is a small zoo, lovely barbeque and a fabulous show that lasts 70mins. FREE BAR too!
AQUALAND, we went twice, great day, very expensive food though, and not very nice, also you will queue for about half an hour, there are lockers, so bring your own food.
it costs about 5 euros to get there. On the way back, the first time, there was a long queue for taxis, which we waited in paitiently, then the Germans, who apparently have never seen a queue before just jumped into taxis in front of everyone, so its very, everyman for himself, one actually pushed a little boy away as he was holidng the taxi for his pregnant mother!!!!
PALMITOS PARK, a zoo, great day!! lots of animals from meercats to orangatans. There are two bird shows, the first is a parrot show where they do tricks, amazing to watch, and the Birds of Prey show, which went a bit wrong as it was new, but was still great.
Again, food expensive, but not as busy.
ciosts about 12 euros to get there!
VIP PREMIUM CRUISE, ours wasnt booked for the right day, but that was a minor mix up. Coach to puerto rico, and you board there, lovely boat, big upper deck, not crowded. Downstairs there is a jaccuzzi, you can jump off the back when it stops, and there is a meal, which is lovely too. FREE BAR!! again lol. You see some lovely sights.
CAMEL CAPERS, fantastic day, you go to a camel zoo, then you go and ride them, we got put on the angriest camel lol, but was still great trek around the dunes, and then back to maspalomas for tea and cake (lovely) and back to apartments, fantastic day out!
THE BEACH: We made the mistake of walking there, we went the wrong way and walked through a hotel to the dunes, then had to walk over them, which was tiring and ended up on the nudist beach, which is significantly quieter than Playa del Ingles beach, but the sun lounger men try their best to get you loungers, only 9 euros for the day for two. The sea isnt very clear, and is very wavey, but alot of fun lol.
I have to admit, the reviews I read put me off, because im not used to very touristy places, but I had a fantastic holiday ,and would definately go again, and these apartments. Just get a saftey deposit box, I was worried about being robbed, but we had a portable dvd player out all the time, and we still have it lol.
