Liberty Apartments

I have just arrived back from a week’s stay at the Liberty Apartments and I have to say that it was fantastic.
I went with a friend and we were a little apprehensive however every part of our stay at the Liberty was brilliant. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly with the majority of them speaking English. They are always willing to help and could not do more for us.
The rooms are a good size and very clean. The bathroom was spotless and the decor throughout was very tasteful and modern. The pool area is lovely with a little snack bar which is open throughout the day. You will never struggle to a get a sunbed and the pool was very clean.
The location is ideal - you are literally 5 minutes walk from the Yumbo Centre and Kasbah. Yumbo centre is very colourful at night to say the least so if you have young children I would not recommend it after 10pm as it can become a little risqué!
If you do get the opportunity then my two recommendations would be;
Ricky’s Cabaret Bar, Yumbo Centre - It’s a drag queen show which starts about 11.30pm and its absolutely free. It was hilarious and my face ached the next morning from laughing so hard.
Italian Restaurant next door to Liberty - The food is absolutely amazing and the staff are so lovely you never want to leave.
All in all I cannot say a bad word about Liberty and would certainly look to go there again.

We have just arrived home from 2 weeks at Liberty Apartments, well we had a great time. We arrived at 4am due to a delayed flight, ours reps were waiting for us and took us straight to the apartments where we were greeted by a warm welcome by the receptionist. We were quickly checked in and we were in our apartment within 10 minutes.
The apartment was very clean and tidy, the bedroom was quite big as it had 2 wide single beds in it which could be pushed together to make a double bed. The kitchenette was well equipped with toaster, kettle, 2 heat rings, microwave, saucepans, glasses ect. We had a balcony that faced the road which was fine even though there was a lot of traffic it wasn't that noisy, at night when you shut the windows you could hardly hear any traffic at all.
The pool was nice lots, of sun beds which were very comfortable to lay on much better than the plastic ones. Poolside bar was well priced for drinks and snacks, two supermarkets were very near which is handy. The chamber maids were very friendly and helpful, they even done your washing up for you if you had left any. Clean towels and bedding 3/4 times a week, we had two ceiling fans which was nice as, one in the lounge and one in the bedroom so we didn’t need to use the air-conditioning. We had a nice telly in the lounge which had several free channels but if you wanted to watch sky TV you just put one euro in per hour.
Liberty is situated just nicely to the famous Yumbo centre only 5 min walk, the Kasba Centre is also quite close about 10-15 mins walk. The beaches were lovely but it was about 20 min walk or about 2-3 euros by taxi. Water park is great lots to do but this cost 22 euros each but it was worth the money, go by taxi as it is only 3-4 euros each way which works out cheaper that doing as a trip with the reps.
I highly recommend the Yumbo for food go to Moreno for good steaks and good friendly service and a good price, also the Chinese next to Moreno called Beijing as its only 6 euros and you can eat as much as you like from the buffet has about 65 different dishes to choose from.
Oh I forgot the safety deposit boxes in the rooms are very good only 30 euros for the 2weeks but you get 10 euros back when you leave.
We were well informed about the time to leave apartments which was 12pm but there is a safely lockable courtesy room for you luggage, also a toilet and shower if you wanted it. There is also a set of scales to weigh your luggage which is good as you can even your luggage better as the limit is only 20 kilos, the airport charges 10 euros a kilo over your limit but they didn’t seem to mind if you are only over a bit, to sum it all up we had a great time and would recommend it to anyone.

I and 4 friends stayed at the apartments for 7night and we could not fault anything for the apartments they we well looked after and well worth the money.
Pool we excitants as were the rooms. We had 2 apartments which were next to each other. Very clean, very tidy and well equipped.
We are travelling back there again in Sep 2007 with more friends as we were that impressed.

I am just back from a 2 week stay with the lads in Liberty Apartments. Before I set off I read the reviews below.
Unfortunately I cannot write a positive review about Liberty Apartments. We arrived at around 1am, and the security guard on the reception could barely speak a word of English.
When we arrived in the room we were quite happy to have a pool view. The room seemed quite fresh, tidy, and modern. The brochure we booked from advised that their is an Aircon facility at an extra cost. We noticed that their was an aircon unit installed in our room, and approached reception to turn it on for us.
After waiting for a few minutes for the receptionist to stop chatting on MSN messenger, we were advised that yes they do have an air con facility but not on our floor. Although there is a unit installed in our room, it wasn't connected. We were not best pleased!!
The pool cleaning of the pool was mainly done by the guests!! By this I mean, there were no staff clearing rubbish. Whilst we were soaking up the sun, we were being attacked by rubbish blowing around whenever there was a strong wind.
The apartments have recently been renovated - and you can tell!! Near the pool area there is what looks like a "builder’s site." The apartments were renovated on a very tight budget! By this I mean installing a modern toilet cistern, sink, shower etc, and leaving the olive coloured tiles?
On the pool level there is a tile which is about to fall off the wall, and it's situated above a seating area. On this same floor there is a luggage room which looks as if it was an old toilet, and still smells of an old toilet!
Neither our rep our the reception staff informed us of what time we had to leave our room on the last day. We were woken up by the maid at 11.30am who informed us that we had 30mins for the 3 of us to get showered, dressed, pack our cases, and get out!
In my opinion before Liberty Apartments was renovated, the staff knew how much of a "dump" they were working in, and there attitude reflected this. Unfortunately it seems that their attitudes haven't changed at all! They were not friendly at all, and when I asked for help, I was told my rep would help me.... TAKE MY ADVICE AND GIVE IT A MISS!!!
Riu Palace in Playa del ingles looks like a good alternative.

Me and my fiancé stayed at the Liberty Apartments for 10 nights. Our stay there was excellent, we could not fault anything.
The staff there were very pleasant and helpful, apartments were absolutely spotless and very comfortable.
The pool area was very spacious and always plenty of sun loungers and was always kept clean. We are hoping to go back there for our honeymoon as we enjoyed it that much!

Me and my girlfriend have Just got back form a weeks stay in the Liberty Apartments, it was booked as a late deal and it was well worth the money this was our first time in Gran Canaria and we would definitely recommend these Apartments to anyone wanting to go on a self catering holiday.
The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful and spoke very good English which is always a bonus!
The Apartments were very clean and tidy and had everything you needed for a self catering holiday. In the time we were there we had maid service five days out of the seven. The pool area was also very well maintained, clean pool and nice and comfortable sun loungers not the usual plastic things you normally get. Good selection of snacks and drinks at the poolside bar, check out the Club Sandwich you cant beat it to cure that hang over!
The only gripe we had the all week was the last day because we didn't fly back home to four in the morning we were going to have to be out of our room by ten in the morning but lucky for us we managed to get a late check out were we could keep our room on until our coach picked us up to take us to the airport , the bad thing we were charged 50 euros bearing in mind we didn't arrive until half four Saturday into Sunday morning the week before so realistically they got a extra day out of us.
I would also recommend you to ask a couple of days before hand about a late check out the reason for this is because they have a limit of ten rooms for late check outs.
So for a late deal we didn't do to bad and definitely recommend The Liberty Apartments.

We returned from Gran Canaria on 28 August having spent nine days at the Liberty Apartments.
They are "First Class" in every respect and from the moment we met the staff until our departure we could not have wished for a friendlier and extremely helpful team.
The pool, poolside bar, restaurant and gardens are immaculately maintained. Very comfortable sun loungers surround the pool where drinks and meals can be consumed (or in the restaurant or at the bar). The meals and drinks are excellent value for money.
Our room, which was on the fourth floor was reached by using the two lifts. It was fully air-conditioned with a ceiling fan in the bedroom and in the living room. The kitchen was superb and provided a microwave, two electric hobs, an electric kettle, a toaster, a refrigerator and all the equipment that one would need in a kitchen.
The wet room was fantastically set out with an excellent shower, WC and wash basin surrounded by plenty of shelf space and towel rails.
There was a TV in the living room and if you only wanted Sky News or CNN it cost nothing. From the living room a glass door opens out onto the balcony which overlooks the Avenida de Tirajana. Looking to the left is the sea and to the right, the mountains which is a beautiful view. There is a table and chairs making a pleasant place to take breakfast or watch the sunset. The Yumbo centre is about 5 minutes walk.
There is a cash machine right next to the apartments. We will definitely be returning and can highly recommend these apartments. Having been holidaying in Playa del Ingles for years, we have stayed at other apartments on the Avenida de Tirajana, but none of them equal the very high standard of the Liberty Apartments.

I have only just arrived home from Gran Canaria this morning with my family. I really enjoyed it and the apartments were really clean and very nicely decorated. The apartments are situated right in the heart pf Playa Del Ingles although it is quite a walk to the beach.
The pool area was very nice and the sun lounging beds were very comfortable and modern. There is a cafe in the hotel which does nice breakfasts. The reception people were very friendly and helpful and done their best to make are holiday enjoyable. There are many restaurants surrounding the apartments although my family and I did not have a decent meal while we were there. The beach is lovely and there are many restaurants and cafes surrounding it.
There is another beach in Gran Canaria called Anfi Beach Club which is absolutely beautiful, we got a taxi there which cost us 20 euros there and back but it was worth it. I would definitely recommend Liberty apartments, they are ideal for everyone.

I’ve just come back from staying at the liberty apartments and I have to say its one of the best I holidays I have been on. I’m going back next year and I can’t wait. Its in quite a good location, its a bit of a distance to the beach but we just got taxis and it was only about 3 euros. The Yumbo centre was about 4 minutes walk away, and Kasbah and the Irish centre is a taxi ride away and again is about 3 euros.
The Irish centre is amazing! That’s were we spent most of our time. For the lads there is a wet t-shirt competition at Keanes bar at half 12 on a Tuesday night, and lets just say, its amazing what a girl will do for money! There’s St. Patrick’s bar which is pretty cool, the waitress, Emma, is really nice, get to know her and she gives you free drinks! Then there’s Branagans which is great for a boogie! A bit of advise is don’t go out until about midnight because it doesn’t get started until then so catch a quick nap before you go!
There is a nice restaurant around the corner that’s reasonably priced and there’s pizza hut as well. Also a supermarket around the corner. The receptionists are really nice and helpful! Watch out for the security guard...he likes giving out warnings!
For shopping go to Atlantico...its about 15 euros by taxi but definitely worth it!

The Liberty apartments are very clean and well maintained although maid service only come round every other day but do your washing up for you if you have left any in the sink. They also provide towels, which is a bonus as not many do. There are two sides to the apps one overlooking the pool and this side is quiet but the other side overlooks a main road, which could at times be a bit noisy, but not enough to stop you sleeping.
There is a poolside bar but right next door to the apps is Harry’s bar and this bar does good food and quiet cheap we ate there all week we were there, drinks were also cheapest at this bar well worth visiting. Overall these apps are very clean staff friendly has pool ,tennis courts & mini supermarket .
