Stayed at the Maripins in May this year, rooms small and basic but clean. Towels changed, beds made on a daily basis. Friendly and helpful staff. Variety of dishes available. Left the hotel at 7 in the morning provided us with a pack lunch as we were missing breakfast. Would return again. Only downfall no kettle in the room. Town itself plenty of shops and bars to enjoy. Pool very clean kids enjoyed.
- Advice: Make the most of the buffet.

lovely clean hotel.Basic rooms with good size balcony.Cleann towels every day.Friendly staff.Good value for money. No tea and coffee facilities in room is a bit of a let down. Excellent location, would stay again for what it cost.Entertainment not brilliant but you can go elsewhere nearby.Plenty of pubs on bar street.Champions bar good value for money, bottles of san miguel only one euro and cocktails 2.25 euros. Avoid rovers return bar.Landlord claims to be selling SAN MIGUEL for 2.95 euros a pint. NEVER been san miguel/DISGUSTING. When we asked for drinks to be changed landlord refused so we left.....ha ha..did himself out of a weeks custom from 4 of us. Go to champions bar a better drink for 1.25 euros a pint.Landlord friendly.Lets see who's still in business next season.

We stayed at this hotel during august 2010 and found it to be a bargain for the price we had paid. The hotel rooms were small and basic but clean and linen changed on a daily basis.
The buffet style food was plentiful and varied to suit everyones taste.
The staff are very friendly and speak good English.
I would recommend this hotel to friends and family its a great hotel and the prices are very reasonable.
I would deffinately use this hotel again.
- Advice: Lovely place to relax and enjoy the sun.

Booked online and wasn't sure what to expect, but this was a great hotel. The staff were very friendly, rooms spotless, and the dining room was large enough so that we didn't have to share a table with strangers. There was plenty of choices in the meals, hot & cold, so there was always something we liked.
Location is great, right among the shops & close to pubs etc. We found a couple of great pubs nearby, Eureka Corner has a good atmosphere & nice food, as does the Drunken Duck (not to be confused with the Drunken Ducklin' which we found wasn't as nice).
The BEST PUB OF ALL was Champions Bar, which the owner runs single-handed so doesn't open 'til 7pm, but the drinks are 2-for-1 all night, and each drink gets you a coupon, then 12 coupons gets you a t-shirt. Great place, we met some really good people there, atmosphere fab (they even have Sports chanels on if you like that kind of thing!).
We would definitely stay at this hotel again - and probably will!

We booked our hoilday through a discount travel website, not sure what we were going to find for the low price we paid, we arrived at Mripins and were EXTREMLEY pleased!
The reception staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. There are 2 lifts available and good disabled access too. The rooms were basic but cleaned everyday and good value for the money. Our view was fantastic, our room overlooked the swimmingpool and the beach.
The swimming pool was lovely, theres a shallow pool for the children with a fountain and a good size pool with shallow and deep ends. The bar serves pizzas and sandwiches throughout the day if you're peckish and the prices are very reasonable!
Breakfast at the hotel was a buffet and lovely, ranging from fruits, cereals, yoghurts, breads, pastries, toasted sandwiches to a traditional fry-up. The only down-side... No ketchup!
The only bad thing I can think of about the Hotel, were the TERRIBLE cocktails! They clearly did NOT have a clue what a Strawberry Daiquiri was! DO NOT ORDER COCKTAILS THERE! Other drinks were great though.
There's evening entertainment at the hotel, ranging from karaoke to traditional flaminco dancers... however I'd suggest finding entertainment elsewhere...
The hotel is located on a strip with some nice restaurants, however its about a 20min walk to the busy strip of bars, shops and restaurants.
If it's clubs and nightlife you want, theres several "discos" which are cheap and play good music, the highlight of our holiday was the foam party at Disco QK on a Monday! and it was only a 10min walk from the hotel.
Overall, as two 21 year old women, looking for a relaxing, sunny, cheap holiday with some good nightlife.... Maripins and Malgrat De Mar did the job!!

Found a cheap deal & booked our holiday via the internet for the 1st time.
Got a private transfer from Girona airport direct to the hotel in 30 mins which was totally hassle free!!
Very impressed on arrival at hotel & reception staff were extremely polite.
Rooms were clean & nicely presented but extremely noisy on the 1st floor on entertainment nights. (Not ideal for our 2 & 10 year olds).
No kids entertainment as hotel tended to cater for the majority (older couples) which was disappointing after reading other reviews which stated a hotel for familes with young children!!
The food was ok the 1st couple of days but did get repetitive with not much variation & could have been hotter.
The resort itself was lovely with a vast choice of shops on the doorstep.
Its a lovely 10 min walk into Santa Susanna for a change of scenery.
We spent most of our days at a bar across from the Maripins which was directly on the beach so the kids were happy!
Would highly recommend the Eureka Pub on the corner (about 2 mins from hotel) which was a great british bar & the hospitality was superb. Most importantly, the kids enjoyed themselves with the Karaoke, quizzes etc.
We found that all the staff at the hotel were courteous at all times, and the cleaning staff were wonderful. The pool area was spotlessly clean but the water was freezing, despite the hot weather (but we still had a swim anyway).
We would certainly recommend this hotel for couples & older friends but definitely not for families with children.

Hotel bedrooms are quite old - early 80's - and could do with a complete refurb. My husband and I and our 2 children stayed in this hotel, we were squashed into one room that would be adequate for 2 people. The beds were made every day and clean towels which was nice. There is air conditioning in the bedrooms which is helpful. The food was ok, although if you go early its a bit of a smash and grab - there was a nice salad selection and soup every night for dinner as well as hot food from the griddle and a hot selection too. My children found on some nights that there wasn't much that they liked - they are 7 and 9 and dont like anything that looks foreign.Breakfast was usually the same - bacon eggs beans and toast or cereal. They did seem to put a roast beef in gravy on offer for about 4 nights in a row which although was very nice - you didn't want it for that many evenings. Jelly and ice cream is available everynight so if you like that you're ok.
The staff are very friendly and courteous. The bar staff are very efficient and although at times there is only one person on, they dont get flustered. Just one word of warning though, if you sit outside around the pool the flies will drive you mad after a while. I love to sunbathe but at one point they got on my nerves so much I had to go in. I would not go here again as there is not an awful lot for the children to do other than walk up and down the front every night or have a go on the quads. The hotel does not have any structured kind of childrens club, just a young lad and girl doing a small disco each night for half an hour.
Watch out for the jelly fish in the sea also, my son got stung twice in one week and my daughter, although can swim - could not swim in the sea as the level of the shore drops steeply all the way across the beach.

As a single Mother with her two young daughters I was somewhat apprehensive about the trip but on reflection it was miles better than I anticipated. The room was fairly small but adequate for our needs. It is a prime position for the beach which was lovely. The housekeeping was excellent with the maid on a daily basis. The hotel and restaurant staff were all very courteous and allowed me to keep my room for a small charge on the departure day. The main proportion of guests were over 50 and the facilities for young children were slightly limited but the highseason had not yet started. The food was excellent with lots of choice for children who were a bit fussy!! There was various evening entertainment ranging from quiz nights to a spanish dancing show. The pool is fairly small which I imagine could get crowded in high season.
The resort in itself is lovely for families. There are lots of boutiques, pubs and restaurants. It is busy enough without it being too loud. It is a good location to walk to neighbouring Santa Susanna and there is a railway with easy and cheap fares to all neighbouring resorts.
The only thing I would advise is not to bother with independant shuttle services from the airport to the resort. Average taxi fare is 50Euros and a half an hour journey.
An enjoyable holiday!

I enjoyed my stay at the Maripins Hotel,it is Well situated close to the beach, which is across a main road and railway line and can be reached via the subways, also close to the local Disco which finishes at 05.30 and the noise can be heard from the rooms which overlook it.The Hotel is very clean,All the staff are friendly and helpful. the food is buffet style, plentyful and varied.my only critisism is that i would have liked to have seen some english style food now and again along side the other food on offer. However there are plenty of English style Pubs who serve Imported British food and if i return to the Maripins hotel i would go on a Bed & Breakfast basis so that i could vary my diet using the many local cafe's,bars and resturants
