Maripins Serhs Hotel

This was the 2nd Holiday for my 14 year old Daughter and myself, the last being in 1999, once again the Holiday was superb. The coach journey, with regular stops and extra legroom really is the way to go, no problems with luggage and dropped off right outside the hotel.
Everybody makes friends on the coach and its so easy, a special thank you to John the coach "Trolly Dolly!". We arrived at 7.30 Sat morning and went for breakfast then got our room, front of hotel and spotless. The Maripins offers a selection of food to suit all, we stayed 7 nights and never felt we couldn’t eat what was on offer, hot or cold and plenty of fresh fruit. The staff always friendly and Pat on reception, from England is a hive of information.
Our rep Daryl was on hand and makes you feel safe, never pushy and always on time. All in all a great value holiday, friendly staff at Harry’s, we will be back!

We stayed at the Maripins Hotel last August, it was fantastic, the staff, food and entertainment. Cannot fault it and will be booking again this August.
The rooms and pool area was always kept clean, while the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
We made use of the excellent train service which was cheap and on time.
The nightlife was also good with plenty of restaurants, bars.
I can also say that the beach was clean, situated just 100 yards from the hotel accessed by an underpass, great if you have children.

Our holiday this year was the 5th time we have been to Malgrat, and the 4th time we have stayed at Maripins (just can't get out of the habit)!!
The Maripins is a superb hotel. We have been 3 times with our local coach company, Leons holidays, once with Airtours and this year we booked with sunshine direct which is part of the Sunplaya group from Wolverhampton.
The rooms are great, now with air-conditioning! They are cleaned and towels changed every day, the majority of rooms offer a great sea view, although it can be a little noisy at the front, especially on a Friday night, when the locals go out on the town and 'live it up' until the very early hours! However, there is no thumping disco nearby or noisy bars, and the hotel entertainment always finishes at midnight.
The food is good. If you don’t like it, and lets face it, there’s plenty of English people who expect English food in Spain! Then it is cheap enough to go and eat out in any one of the many many bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. The food selection this year was the best ever in all the years we have been going. Dinner starts at 7pm and you might be advised to wait until the queue to get in goes down, there is plenty of space in the dining room, but you always get the gonks who want to be first! The staff topped up the food on a regular basis, and we often went down an hour before it closed, and there was plenty, and it was fresh.
Speak to pat on reception, she is from England and is a mine of information, and ready to help with anything, great staff at Maripins, faultless.
Bar prices are good, not your usual rip off, the pool is safe for kids and there is plenty of room to soak up the sun. Entertainment was much better this year, catering for a wide range of interests.
Malgrat is a good touring base as well. The train station is a 10 minute walk away (15-20 for the elder ones amongst you) and is all 'on the flat' as is the whole resort, great for wheelchair users and the older citizens.
Go to Maripins, you will love it!

I have just returned from a short stay at the Hotel Maripins in Malgrat De Mar. I stayed there with my mother, aged 70, and my son, aged 12.
I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised by the experience. The hotel was great and managed to cater for our diverse age range well. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable, but the food was excellent. We had full board and although trying to be very careful not to eat too much, we couldn’t resist some of the wonderful food on offer.
There was fresh salad and copious amounts of fresh fruit on offer at lunch and dinner time. Each night, there was a different selection of food, with a barbecue option in addition to stews, fish dishes etc. Drinks were very reasonably priced with pleasant wines available to accompany meals at approximately 5 euros a bottle! The pool was good and there was entertainment provided every evening. The beach was just across the road too.
Malgrat is a lively place with good, cheap shopping and easy access to other resorts. The hotel Maripins is quite close to the train station and Barcelona can be reached easily by train in about an hour for approx. 3 euros (single) Trains to Barcelona run every half hour. Within easy reach also is Figueres with the very wacky Dali museum, well worth a visit!
We really enjoyed the four days spent at the hotel Maripins. Staff were extremely friendly and obliging and we will definitely visit the hotel again.

Me and my wife took a coach holiday on 6 may 2005 to Malgrat De Mar and was recommended the Maripins Hotel by the tour operator, who really looked after us when we arrived.
We found a very pleasant and nice hotel, but in the first week they didn’t seem to plan the meals properly. It was mostly chips no potatoes or vegetables to go with the main course, and running out of food by 7 45 pm, when the evening meal time was between 7 00 pm-9 00 pm.
Quite a few people complained who had been going for years but we were told it was the first week of opening and it had been taken over by the Serhs group the impression people have now is the selections of food have been cut down the hotel was described by previous clients as a good family and 40+ hotel but on the second week 4 or 5 German teenage football teams came and they were playing with full size footballs in the pools on the sun terraces.
Even on one occasion in the reception the receptionist had to tell them to stop they were damaging sunbeds chairs rubbish were thrown in the pool they were in the pool that night till half past midnight there was no hotel security or discipline. During that week most of the other holidaymakers were going out in the daytime or sitting on their balcony’s because it was impossible to go in the pool or sit on the terraces because of these groups.
We would like to go to maripins again but I would check to see if there was any groups booked there were quite a lot of holidaymakers saying it would be the last time they would be going to maripins as I mentioned before maripins is described as a family and 40+ hotel and should not accept group bookings.

Stayed at the Maripins a few years ago.
the hotel was clean and tidy and the food alright.
We stayed in one of the 2 side blocks, not in the main hotel. Was a little unnerving the patio window in the bathroom and the sloping balcony. Mind you the cut open knee from trying to open the patio door was my own fault I was drunk. Fair play to the cleaner for cleaning up the glass and blood.
All in all had a good holiday and would go there again.

My husband and I and our two children have just came home from Spain. We stayed at the Maripins Hotel. It was so nice and clean and the staff were very helpful we will be all going again next year.
The night life is great. Most of all the Robin Hood pub was great. All the staff there were great and most of them spoke English so we will also be visiting them again.
If anyone wants a family holiday then go to Malgrat La Mar and stay in the hotel Maripins. Because its great fun also a mini club for the kids great fun and laughs.
