this summer has been our third visit to Angeliki's aparments as on previous visits Manos the owner has been very welcoming and helpful. On arrival this year we were picked up from the airport by taxi and on arrival to angelikis there was a bottle water ,bottle of wine and carton of juice in the fridge. The room was spotlessly clean and towels and sheets changed numerous times during our two week stay.Ideal location for short walk to beaches ,lake and tavernas restaurants and bars. Local bus stop across the road. We conacted manos to book via his email address rooms@angelikis.gr

Dec 2007, Mrs L Preston

Stalis was a nice resort with plenty to do and a nice beach. The apartments were very basic but as long as you don't plan to spend too long in them they’re ok, and let’s face it you don't go on holiday to stay in the room!
It was small and the bathroom wasn't that clean but it was ok as a base. The room wasn't cleaned much while we were there maybe twice, so make sure you take a few towels. We had breakfast included which again was very basic but the owners were very pleasant and after drinking the night before toast and coffee is all you want till midday!
The pool was deep but nice and clean, and the beach was 5 minutes down the road so we usually did both. Overall a lovely resort with plenty of bars and restaurants and very basic accommodation.

Lovely immaculately clean guest house...

Jun 2007, Mr B Miller

Lovely immaculately clean guest house with some bed and breakfast rooms and some self catering rooms, we were self catering.
Small room but big enough for us two, very clean and tidy usual cooking rings toaster and kettle, TV with Greek channels only nice balcony overlooking sea and harbour if you look over the edge, got very hot in the afternoon, rep said mossies were a big problem but we were not bothered. Air con essential an extra 7 Euros a day.
Manos the owner was very helpful and cheerful very willing to assist in any way.
Very close to town, nice and quiet short walk off to left to nice sandy beach with nice cafes nearby.
Spinalonga a sad but good trip with a stop off on way to swim.
Local Bus trip to Malia to see palace was good.
Will definitely go back again.

If you've booked your holiday...

Oct 2006, Miss S Morgan

If you've booked your holiday seriously consider changing your hotel. Myself and a friend have recently returned and the place is disgusting.
No change of linen toilet bins only emptied twice during the week (both of us had upset stomachs during the week), and no hot water need I say more? Kosmar rep next to useless, apparent you only get hot water if the sun is out, so don't bother showering after dark! Oh and we didn't bother with breakfast you only got toast and cheese.
As for the pool, the grass verge hadn't been cut for weeks so rendered it unusable.

My partner booked this holiday after...

Oct 2006, Mr M Causer

My partner booked this holiday after being recommended by First Choice. I checked out the web site before we left and thought it does not seem that bad. Well I am sorry but if you think that these apartments are ok more fool to you. There are far superior apartments out there who are not trying to screw the British holiday maker. Dirty room, clean sheets (where?) did not see a cleaner all week. Nor a rep, do they have one. Welcome meeting rubbish, don’t buy any trips, cheaper in the town.
Came back one day and rubbish bin was emptied except toilet bin was still full. So thought sod it you can’t be bothered to empty we will flush down loo. Hoping for a blockage and transfer.
For you David Attenborough types a visit to the pool is amazing. All types of bugs and creatures abound. Not cleaned once during our stay. Sad to see children swimming away, parents not caring!
Breakfast at the Taverna is 2.50 euros, sounds cheap but no drinks included. Most places charge 3.00 euros with orange juice, and tea or Coffee. Don’t go the Scottish Mambo bar for Breakfast, unless you’re Scottish and feeling Homesick.
Flight was 2 hours late but all credit to First choice they were ok. Food was decent enough. The owner of this complex is just out to get what he can. 40 euro for air con 20 euros for safe deposit box, 10 euros for a fridge. Little tip the keys and controls for all of there are in the kitchen drawers!
Stalis itself was really good found it relatively cheap, good food and friendly people. Make sure you hire a car/jeep and go to the mountains, awesome, Crete, love your island and will definitely return but not to the Basil Fawlty Angeliki apartments.

Just returned from a holiday at the...

Aug 2006, Mrs B Wilson

Just returned from a holiday at the Pension Angeliki apartments in Stalis. I was really worried about going on holiday after reading this website but it wasn't as bad as I had imagined.
Yes, the accommodation is very basic but it didn't ruin our holiday. The rooms are very small and aren't really suitable for more than 2 adults. The toilet was pretty grim and the shower didn't even have a shower curtain, there was also a drain in the middle of the shower room which was pretty smelly at times.
We had a nice patio area with some furniture to sit on. There are fridges in the room and air conditioning but these are payable locally. The pool is okay but is very deep and not suitable for children, there is only about 1 metre of space that can be stood up in but there is a pool next door which you can use.
The resort is great and these apartments are in an excellent location, just 2 mins walk to everything, inc the beach which is gorgeous!

Aug 2006, gilld

I've just returned from a very pleasant stay at Pension Angeliki. We’d read all the negative reviews before going.
However they were wrong, the room was clean & spacious, it was very basic but you only get what you pay for! You can hire a safety deposit box for 15 euros, a fridge for 15 euros, a fan for 10 euros or air conditioning for 40 euros. The breakfast consists of toast with jam/cheese, a glass of orange juice and tea or coffee, served between 8-30 - 9-30am. The cleaners came twice during our weeks stay & emptied rubbish, changed towels & pillowcases.
We spent a lot of time in the pool, it was lovely, but quite deep! The beach and shops are only 5 minutes away. The local bar called Seacrets is very enjoyable for cocktails etc. The resort itself is a bit hectic, but it was the height of the season.

After reading reviews regarding this...

Aug 2006, Mrs S Vann

After reading reviews regarding this accommodation I was horrified to say the least. I tried to change the accommodation without any luck, as I found out on arrival that many of my neighbours at the Angeliki had tried to do the same! Well its not as bad as I thought it would be, yes basic, but found the room clean. Only downside the rooms are only cleaned every second day and sheets not changed for the week we were there.
Breakfast Toast, Jam and cheese. However you can buy a very reasonable breakfast for 2.50 Euros from The Katerina (Georges) what a character he is very friendly and funny. Walk back along to the road and you will see it opposite. Do not buy your trips from the rep very expensive. There are many travel offices in Stalis try Thoses much cheaper by at least 10 Euros per person.
The bakery is fantastic, huge donuts and sandwiches made to order. Turn left when you get to the beach road a short distance. Restaurants did not have a favourite all good, but you will be pestered by the waiters to use their establishments. Swimming pool at the Angeliki, walls could do with a wipe. Not a bad holiday all in all.

Jul 2006, Miss KA Davis

After reading awful reviews about Pension Angeliki Apartments both myself and my partner were horrified and very worried about staying there. We were expecting squalor but were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, bedding and towels immaculate. Bathroom was ok nothing posh, well everything was basic but clean which is the main thing, perfectly acceptable as we didn't pay a fortune for the holiday. I just wanted to write a positive review to put other people’s minds at rest as there was nothing to worry about. We also met the owners and they seemed friendly. Had a fantastic holiday, Stalis was a lovely place, very friendly people, fantastic choice of bars and restaurants and shops.

Really enjoyed this lovely little hotel. The owner Manos makes you feel very welcome indeed.
We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. This was the same price as self catering. Breakfast only consisted of a bread bun, butter, jam, a cake, coffee and fresh orange juice. By no means a fry up but sufficient to keep you going till lunch.
Our room was quite small but had lovely views across the bay and port from the balcony. Standards of cleanliness were high, with the rooms being cleaned regularly throughout our two week stay. A nice touch on arrival is a large bottle of water in the fridge in the room
The hotel is reached by a number of flights of stairs, so people with walking difficulties could count this accommodation out. The location is superb though, within a couple of minutes of the lake and central areas, and at most 10 minutes away from numerous small beaches.
All in all a wonderful time was had. Ag Nik was wonderful, and this hotel was a perfect base.

I have just returned from a holiday...

Jul 2006, Mr A Smith

I have just returned from a holiday with 14 of my friends in Crete, we stayed in the pensions Angeliki hotel which was horrible, the rooms were filthy and didn’t get cleaned at all, the bin for the toilet paper was already full when we arrived and wasn’t emptied at all, there was no hot water, we had to pay to use the safe and a cheap fan that didn’t work! The rooms were less than basic, I have seen better dog kennels, I am disgusted with Kosmar who are the most useless tour operator ever, our flight was delayed by 6 hrs both ways, and they lost our tickets and tried to make us pay for their mistakes. I would not recommend ANYONE stay at pension’s angeliki or travel with Kosmar. We paid for a self-catering holiday and were extremely surprised to find that none of our rooms had a kitchen!

Jul 2006, Miss S Rice

Just returned from a week in Stalis stayed in Pension Angeliki. My partner and I were really worried after reading reports on this accommodation and tried to cancel our accommodation but couldn’t, we were really glad we hadn’t the accommodation is in a great location and although it is basic we both found in clean and too a good standard.
The beds didn’t get changed but we only stayed for a week our towels got changed once, and cleaner was in every second day to empty bins. The pool is really nice and very relaxing as you are off a main road so you don’t hear much noise.
You do have to hire fans, safety deposit boxes, fridges and air con only if you want to. We really enjoyed our holiday and when we go back we will stay in same accommodation again.
