- Advice: Use the Spa at the Oasis Tossa - this was what made it 4 star I think - otherwise stay at the Costa Brava

just got back from oasis tossa , need a holiday to get over this one , it was very noisy at night and full of Spanish , food was average , breakfast was best meal , ate out for all other meals , asked for a glass of ice to take to my room so i could have a cold drink there and was told i had to pay 50c for the plastic cup , not a lot but in 4 star hotel you wouldn't expect to pay for plastic cup , was advertised with mini bar in room but you had to pay for one , asked for room with a view of pool area on top floor when i booked and was give room looking a a brick wall on bottom floor ,noisy is a understatement , wouldn't stay there again , but would definitely go back to tossa it is a lovely resort .

We flew to barcelona and pre booked a reort hopper. Unfortunately the driver didnt know where he was going and it took us 3-4 hours to get to Tossa. Eventually we were dropped of at our hotel, but the driver tried to drop us in Lloret at some hotel that new nothing about us initially. When driving through the hills on the way to tossa, he was arguing with someone on his mobile so only steering with one hand, which was quite worrying and scary.
The hotel was lovely and clean and plenty of choice at meal times. There was entertainment on every night, but as the hotel was fairly quiet towards the end of the week and there wasnt much on for children. There was one night with a disco for them, which my daughter enjoyed. Cannot really fault the hotel other than its a shame there wasnt more for children in May. We were there the second week in May so i didnt think it was that early on. We would like to go back, maybe june time and hopefully we wont get rain. The first 3 or 4 days were cloudy and patchy rain, which was dissapointing. However the hotel had an indoor pool, jacuzzi etc, which was great for my daughter. We would reccommend Tossa, ideal for familys and couples. No mad night life but plenty of bars.
The return resort hoppa was on time, was still fairly lengthy, but okay and at least we had a driver that knew where he was going!

Very Nice hotel, could not fault the staff in any department. The rooms are very clean and tidy and the air conditioning excellent, and although the food was not 4 star, it was still ok. The only down side which sounds a real moan I know but I have to mention it, is Spanish Children. They are the loudest and most badly behaved kids in Europe and turn many a tranquil location into a screaming kindergarten.
I know there only kids but I can still hear their SCREEEAAAMSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!

My friend and I have just returned from the Oasis Tossa and were so impressed we will be booking again for next year.
The hotel is spotlessly clean and the bedroom sizes quite adequate. All of the hotel staff were pleasant and helpful.
We met up with some lovely people and although the hotel seems to have a large number of repeat guests we certainly didn't feel like the odd ones out.
The food in the hotel was very good with lots of fresh salads and a good choice even for the most fussy eater. The drink prices were also reasonable and the waiter service very efficient.
We will most definitely be returning.

Hotel Oasis, Tossa De Mar. I went with my Husband and my 2 boys.
A very nice hotel, clean, lifts were easy to get , our room was a little small, as we had 4 single beds in, but really you only go there to sleep, we asked to get a pool side room, but failed.
The shops are very near, so is the sea, a very pretty beach setting, lovely at night time, the side roads are very pretty too !
It was a 4 star hotel, but it would been nice to have a fridge in our room, as we have young children, at night time it would been nice to have a bottle of chilling in there, as once the boys go to sleep it’s nice to chill out a little, warm wine don’t taste the same.
The hotel food was nice, not sure 4 star, but plenty of it, the chef cooked the meat on the side, but in the mornings he could not keep up with the people, so the rest on your plate was a only warm time you got to your table, they cleaned the tables fast, always a table to sit at too!
It’s a very nice hotel inside and out.
The pool looked really nice. 1 life guard. I called him happy Jim. He did it the whole week we were there. You were not allowed to put towels on the sun beds 1st thing in the morning then go shopping for the day, which was good. You’re not allowed lilos, or balls, or anything like that. I saw loads get told No No No from happy Jim, but I did not see what was wrong with babies having their little rings to float, but he said No!
My son still cannot swim, as he is 7, but did not want to go in the baby pool as he’s to big. There’s not much shallow bit in the main pool. We had a small float, the guard came to say No, but I said he needs it to stay afloat. He said ok, but what was funny , he watched people blowing up there little boats or rings for the babies, but once they got into the pool he said ,No No No .....
Then when you go for lunch, there’s only 1 waiter serving so a couple of times you had to wait a long time for your food. Faster to go to the town and buy lunch out time you get back, you're probably still be waiting for him to bring the food out.
But in all we had a great time!!

I went there with my grandson husband best friend and her granddaughter, we had a fantastic time. The only thing I would say is watch your children when they use the internet at the hotel, my 12 year old grandson put his money in and straightaway a page of very graphic porn came up , (luckily I was with him ) obviously the last person to use the pc had left this site running, we complained but the staff weren’t helpful, and our room was only just big enough, I prefer a bit more space.

I’m writing this report from a teenagers point of view as I was 12 when I went to this hotel, I loved the food and so did my grandparents [and my nan is really fussy] and the entertainment was very good.
The rooms were very big with air con, surrounding the hotel were lots of good shops, and just out side tossa de mar is a water park in lloret, we had a great time there, I would love to go back there and recommend it to anyone.

We went for a relaxing break and that is what we got.
The resort was nice without a fast food outlet to be seen (KFC etc.) But some decent restaurants especially the Tursia and modern establishment and near the old town walls well opposite the Sa Murralla, where we had our anniversary meal was lovely. The hotel was nice with pleasant staff clean rooms and the food was of a good standard.
The pool area was clean with a life guard and plenty of loungers I would go again.

My boyfriend and I took my parents on holiday and we had a fantastic time. The hotel was lovely. The rooms were immaculate, cleaned everyday thoroughly. We had a road facing balcony which was fine. The road wasn't too busy, little train came by every 30mins as there is a stop outside.
I would say however it you could get a pool facing room, do. The poolside was clean and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, couples and families. There were plenty of sun beds, but mats on the beds would have been nice. Also more parasols were needed as the weather was lovely. The bar area was quite small and so was the entertainment. 1 lady working all day and night. She was excellent however. For a 4* hotel I would say it was a basic 4*. We were half board and my dad is one of the fussiest eaters. But he managed every evening to find 3 courses to suit his appetite.
The food was really good, lots of varieties, and there was a chef cooking fresh meat to your liking at a separate counter. We booked Ryanair flights, then hotel separate with medhotels.com. We found this extremely reasonable especially during the school holidays.

Just returned from a family holiday to Oasis Tossa comprising of myself, husband, two teenage boys, 9yr old and parents in their 70's. Rooms were very clean but basic. Aside from Peter, the entertainment man, all other staff barely spoke English and the reception staff were quite rude and unhelpful! I was disappointed with the hotel as my parents had holidayed here twice before and spoke highly of it. There were an awful lot of Spanish guests who, I feel, were treated differently from all the others. The food was crap and consisted of mainly fish and pork fried in loads of grease. Drink prices were really high - 1.70 euros for a bottle of 300ml water and 2.30 euros for a bottle of 350ml pop! Bar staff didnt like you to go up to the bar but to wait until the waiter came to you, which could be ages and then when the drinks were brought you were obliged to give the waiter a tip. On several occasions the waiter brought the wrong drink and because my hubby didnt want to create a fuss we paid for it!! The entertainment was basic too, consisting of darts or ping pong for adults during the day, and bingo or quizzes in the evening with the odd Spanish night thrown in. There was no children's club although Peter was available to entertain the children and did try to engage our son in activities but as he was the only English child in the hotel he opted out.
My recommendation is to go to the Costa Brava hotel which is nearer the beach and caters more for English guests. As it is also part of the GHT group we visited this hotel a couple of times and found it much nicer.
Be warned the beach in Tossa is made up of very coorse sand and you sink in it easily. It is recommended that you take a pair of shoes to wear on the beach and in the sea otherwise you can end up cutting your feet to bits!
