Porticholl Villa Reviews
" Totally spoilt by the building work... "

Totally spoilt by the building work happening next door whilst we were there! Noise, no privacy around the pool, a real disappointment. Hopefully the new villa is now complete and so building work disturbance will not affect other visitors, but be warned, the photograph displayed here no longer has this view - the new villa will definitely make the Porticholl feel very 'hemmed in'. I would advise you to think about another villa located in a more airy spot further down the same road.

" I have just got back from this villa... "

I have just got back from this villa two days ago. I went there for a hen week and there was 9 women altogether, and not one of us had a complaint about this villa. The swimming pool is of a good size (although a bit cold but we did go in October). The walk to the shops and restaurants is lovely, although coming back up the hill is a bit strenuous when you've had one too many to drink. It looks absolutely lovely up close as well, the pictures don't do it justice! If you go for breakfast anywhere I seriously suggest you go to El Sids. I really believe they do the best Full English breakfasts in Moraira. Also, if you do go out of season, go to the Las Vegas bar, it's open till about 4am and it starts to get busy about midnight. I highly recommend this Villa!

" We have just booked for our third... "
Submitted By: Mr K Allan
We have just booked for our third October half term trip to this villa - this gives you some idea of how much we like it!
It has an 'American' feel to it - very spacious, with a private elevated terrace and pool above a very select street.
We are a 3 generational group, so the grandparents get the downstairs suite (ideal, as once up the steps to the front door, everything else for them is on the one floor) with the rest of us in the good sized rooms upstairs.
The beds look fine, but, to be honest, the mattresses are not very supportive and this is our only gripe about the villa - we take camping mats to 'improve' them.
The location is the thing about the Porticholl - once down the hill, the town is walkable in one direction and the lovely beach and little cafe-fronted El Portet bay is walkable in the other.
We do have hire cars to stock up at the supermarkets, but that is the only reason to get them out and through the electric gates.
The Oasis restaurant as you reach El Portet is very good value as is The Refugio in town. Avoid the 'tourist trap restaurants' in the square area.
The Olive Tree Deli is great for morning coffee and cakes and they do a tasty take-away range too - ideal if you want to eat in and not light the barbecue.
We love this little spot.
