" Pre-booked taxi essential to arrive... "

Pre-booked taxi essential to arrive at the villa as drive up the road a nightmare, adventurous is an understatement. Once at villa it is beautiful with views to die for.

Hire car needs to be small to negotiate the hairpin bends; therefore I would recommend a pre-booked return taxi also on departure, for suitcases.

Wasps were also a problem, but if you don’t flap and try the burning local coffee trick it seems to keep them at bay. We found it was best not to eat out on the veranda as this attracted them.

Pool was fantastic but very shallow in places with only one deep area. Jacuzzi was OK, once we found the switch to operate it. The outside shower did not work and looked as if it hadn't for a while, when we asked about it we were told it just doesn't.

Demitrei the owner continually called in to make sure everything was OK, his English is excellent & he is more than willing to help with anything, however he appeared to visit the villa when we were out, as we discovered the alarm switched off on one occasion also a word of warning, "watch out for the gardener suddenly appearing without any announcement".

The only negative comment about the villa was the "hardness" of the master bedrooms mattress, great for bad back sufferers but a bit of a torture for others.

We visited Barbatti beach for the water sports and decided to have lunch in Pedros on the front, but unfortunately we were not welcomed by the staff who seemed to prefer the Italian clientele.

We had to wait a long time even for our drinks to arrive and our meals all arrived at different times, looking around this was not so for the other tables. Although it is a lovely setting I would strongly advise people to give it a wide berth as they operate positive discrimination against all non Italiens!!!!!

Apart from that we were welcomed at all the other Tavernas we visited and the food was fantastic, particularly Vitamins and Mitso.

Villa plus staff were very helpful.

Nassiki is a beautiful part of Corfu and we would return again.

Superb villa with stunning views in a tranquil setting. The drive from the main road up to the mountain top villa is very scary - but it can be done!! We never attempted it in the dark though.

The villa was of a very high standard - all fixtures and fittings superior, sat tv, ps2 which my children loved. Plus the pool table and ping pong table. We had house keeping twice a week and the pool was cleaned a couple of times a week too. Our holiday reps were very helpful. I would strongly recommend this villa!

" We have just returned from a very... "

We have just returned from a very relaxing holiday staying at the Villa Vryssoula in the resort of Nissaki on the island of Corfu.

We arrived late at night so had pre booked a taxi through our tour operator to transfer us to the villa. We were so very glad we did! The road up the mountain on which the villa is situated is very narrow, extremely steep and has many hairpin bends.
There is some road lighting but negotiating it in the dark was difficult, even for the Greek taxi driver.

Our hire car was being delivered to us the next morning and we were more than a little nervous of attempting the journey up and down that hill! However, the next day once the car was delivered, we drove down to the supermarket. Or rather, crawled down to the supermarket! Once we had managed the journey our confidence grew so that we were happy to use the car.

The villa itself is fantastic! Very pretty inside with everything you could need to help you relax. Outside, the pool was wonderful, a good size with pretty landscaping set around it.

The views from the terrace were stunning, looking down over the mountain and across the sea. We were a party of six and there were enough sun loungers and chairs etc for us all.

There was a pool table and a table tennis table for our use which was a great added bonus. The weather was beautiful - blue skies and very hot. Due to the time of year we were plagued by wasps. But we discovered a brilliant solution whilst dining at one of the local tavernas - Taverna Mitsos on Nissaki beach.

The wasps were really bothering my children so they brought a dish of burning coffee powder, and placed it on the table and the smoke kept them away. We used that trick ourselves for the rest of the holiday. We were very happy with the cleanliness of the villa and pool and would recommend it highly.

However we were not so enamoured of Corfu itself, finding it somewhat dirty (loads of litter on roadside and in the sea) and had had no idea of the inferior waste disposal system which means you cannot put even the loo paper down the loo, but have to dispose of it in a separate bin. There were signs in every toilet we visited around the island.

But the villa more than made up for the negative points - it was always such a relief and joy to return from our trips out - to return to a beautiful setting in peace and quiet.

" This villa was gorgeous, well... "

This villa was gorgeous, well decorated, and spacious with a great pool area.

The location was perfect for the views across the sea etc, although the windy dirt track road leading to the villa was a nightmare.

The villa and the pool are kept extremely clean. The only problem we had was the wasps, some days they were so bad we could not enter the pool.

All in all, the villa is great and we would def go back armed with the wasp killer!

" Having been to Nissaki 4 times this... "

Having been to Nissaki 4 times this villa was by far the best so far, turn left by Thomson office and Olive Oil/Bakery shop go up the hill, Keep going up, quiet a drive a good 10 mins, watch out for sharp bends, and the villa is behind a yellow stone wall with white gates, on the right (hard to find at 11.15 at night as not a lot of street lights) but when you get there! Drive down your own driveway, oh! a fantastic Villa Tastefully decorated Artwork superb, (The owner being an art teacher in France) Jacuzzi pool, and the bigger pool ideal for kids, everything you need is in the villa. Theodora the cleaner is a gem, who comes in Mondays and Fridays, does not speak much English, but will try to teach you Greek. All Tavernas we visited were very good, bakery at the bottom of the hill for fresh bread cakes (get there early) A&B supermarket on road from airport has all you could want for the big shop when you arrive. Little markets for everyday needs are all over the place. What we did discover was instead of collecting your car at the airport you can Pre book with tour operators a taxi and have the car delivered the next day to the villa. (Would recommend this for people on night time flights, takes all the hassle out of finding the villa)

We spent 2 weeks here 9-23 Sept 05 and will certainly be going back again.
