We've just returned from Villa Magda in Agios Stefanos after staying a week, booked through Villas Plus. It was our first time on a villa holiday so we didn't really know what to expect. The villa was small but well equipped. Although I have to say the beds were really hard! I am a seasoned Greek traveller but I have to say these are the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept on!
The villa is surrounded by fruit trees and is quite private. Although the owner who lives next door was seen a few times in the garden! There are lots of cats (about 8 ) who frequent the villa garden but they are really friendly and are no bother (especially if you feed them!) ...unless you're not a cat lover like me. The downside was although we had a private pool it was too cold to use as it is not heated. There was also lots of wasps around the pool which was a pest.
The walk from the villa to the the village is not far, about 100yds along an unmade track then 200yds downhill, although not steep by any means. The village is beautiful and the people are so friendly. Best restaurants are Galini and Nochill up the hill. Nino from the Daimonos bar was lovely. He will order you a taxi or take you on his boat to nearby places.
We booked to visit Agni Taverna before we left the UK through Agni travel website. Its well worth a visit. They collect you from the jetty by boat taxi and bring you back later. The meal was gorgeous and the atmosphere lovely.
We had a lovely holiday and I would do the Villa thing again but I'd make sure I booked one with a heated pool next time and more comfy beds! lol
