We are a family of four with two teenage children (19 and 16 years) and had a most wonderful, relaxing holiday at the Nafsika Hotel in San Stefanos. Having holidayed in San Stefanos previously and visited the Nafsika Hotel's taverna, we decided this year to stay at the... more

Just back from a brilliant week in San Stefanos where we stayed at the Nafsika hotel for the 3rd time This small family run hotel run by Speros and his father George celebrated its 30th anniversary this year and is typically Greek while the rooms are fairly basic, they are... more

I first went to the Nafsica in 1997--What amazed me was that I met three or four couples that had stayed there before, some go twice a year--I couldn`t believe that people would go back to the same resort,in fact same hotel--I was thinking they didn`t have any imagination... more

This was our first holiday to the sun and I can honestly say if I never went anywhere else again I'd be happy to continue visiting San Stefanos forever! This is the place for a chill out holiday. The Nafsika Hotel was excellent. Spiro and his team made us feel very welcome... more

We went to the Nafsika Hotel for our first girlie trip after our exams. It was the most amazing holiday in the world. The hotel was absolutely perfect for us - the pool was so nice and it was right on the beach front. It was a short walk into the town with the bars and... more

This was our 2nd visit to the Nafsika (last one in 2004). It has just got better! Food is fantastic - the best Greek Food we have ever eaten. The taverna is the most popular in the village - which speaks for itself - the food is cooked to order and everything is... more

This was my 13th visit and it is like coming home to see my family. I always cry when I have to leave. As always I am looked after by everyone. Even though San Stef has been built up over the years it still has its own charm. Well what can I say about my Corfu family and... more

The Hotel Nafsika is a shining gem in the lovely village of Agios Stefano’s. Expertly run by Speros and his family it is positioned minutes from the beautiful beach but tucked away from the main bars at the village centre. The hotel is basic but very clean with good... more

Will Definately Return
Visited this lovely hotel after reading it's excellent reviews on this site, and although everyone is entitled to their opinion I feel that the 2 negative reviews preceding this one are unjust. The Nafsika is a small and very friendly hotel in San Stefanos on the Northern Coast of Corfu. It is run by a lovely man Speros, who works incredibly hard particularly at meal times to ensure his guests are happy and is aided by his excellent team of staff. It has an enviable position opposite the lovely sandy beach and we were lucky enough to... more
Won't be going again!
After visiting the Nafsica we both feel rather disappointed. We read the reviews beforehand and thought things should have been much better than they were. We know it is basic in Greece but found this hotel in great need of updating. As far as the food is concerned, we booked half board looking forward to our meals. We found only a choice of three starters, three main courses, one of each course you had to pay upto 5 euros extra. For desert, only a choice of one dish, or tea or coffee - unless you wanted to pay more yet again. We noticed... more
Is it really the same hotel?
Thanks to the person from Leeds who posted the ‘Same Hotel?’ review. My partner and I also visited the Nafsika this year, in early June, as a result of the reviews posted on this site. We tried to book for 2005 but all the dates we tried for were full, so we settled instead for the hotel Opal in Turgutreis, Turkey, because its description and reviews were so similar to those for the Nafsika. Having had a lovely holiday there and found the owners to be extremely welcoming and friendly without being ‘in your face’, we travelled... more
Too high a rating
I cannot believe that this is the first or second rated hotel on Corfu. I was half board, breakfast was 2 slices of toast, 1 slice of cake, a glass of so called "orange juice", and tea or coffee. Anything else extra cost. At dinner, dessert was one item only or tea or coffee, anything else extra cost. Bathroom ceiling had black mould, a couple of times there was no hot water left to shower. Pool good, plenty of sunbeds. Food was generally reasonable. Staff very hard working.
Definately visit!
Never, have I been anywhere and had a holiday as good as I have had at the Nafsika hotel. I have been 3 times now and I actually cant get enough... The staff; George, Costas, Chris and Vangellis led by Speros are all extremely friendly and will make you feel very welcome and will help to make your holiday truly unforgettable. The food, prepared by Theodora, Speros' mum, is easily of the best quality in the village, it is excellent, never before have I been to a hotel and eaten their food every night. It really is that... more
Same Hotel?
I visited the hotel early Sept, purely on the reviews posted on this site. I agree everything is down to perception and here is mine. The hotel is in a shabby state and in need of a refurb (yes iv'e taken into account its rated 2* by Thompsons). I agree the staff are "top notch" but Spiros I found aloof ,condescending, and on occassions rude. The night beore departure when we were settling the restaurant bill, Spiros ignored my conversation with him. He did not ask if we had enjoyed our visit, or at any time entered into conversation. The... more
Gourmet Delight/friendly atmosphere
My husband and I plus two teenage children have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Nafsika Hotel in Agios Stefanos, in the North West of Corfu. The brochure said 'small and friendly' and how right it was. It was the friendliest and most informal hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff, Speros,(owner) Vangelis, George, Costas, Chris, Carolina and our maid, were marvellous, continually cheerful and always ready to chat. All the guests got to know each other; it was like one big family and you were continually disappointed when... more
wonderful food
This was our second visit to the nafsika, the welcome from Speros and the rest of the staff was warm and we immediately felt at home. The food which is cooked by Speros's mum Theodora is out of this world. The menu is varied and I have never tasted such wonderful Dolmades before. Looking out at the sea and watching the sun set, being looked after by Speros, George, Costas and Chris, eating food that delights your tastebuds what more can you ask for. Definitely worth a visit.
Wonderful Food!
It has been three years since we last visited San Stefanos, and we spent a lovely peaceful week stayiing at the Nafsika this May. We were happy to find that little has changed at the Nafsika. Speros still runs the place, and his mother rules in the kitchen producing wonderful traditional Greek dishes, including traditional Corfu specialities like briam (a kind of Greek ratatouille). The lamb kleftiko is the best we have eaten in Corfu. Without doubt for us Nafsika has the best food in San Stefanos. We have visited many areas of... more
Unforgettable Evenings
Many years ago we fell in love with the island of Corfu and in particular the resort of Agios Stephanos (Avliotes) in the North West. For 27 years or so we have regularly visited this resort and one of the big delights of our stay is eating at the Nafsika Hotel (situated in the quieter part of the village), run by Speros with the superb cooking provided by his mother Theodora. We have never tasted better Moussakas anywhere but it's not just that typical Greek dish - there is a very large menue with many mouth watering choices including a... more
