We spent 7 wonderful nights in this hotel & wished we'd booked for more! We loved it so much that when we returned home, we immediately booked to go back in June 2008 for 10 nights.
The food is excellent, the staff very friendly & helpful; however, as it is built on a clifftop it would not be suitable for everyone as it is quite hilly. We loved the remoteness of the hotel & there is something for everyone.

The food was impecable with a wide variety for all Try the "chicken kebabs" at lunch time in the principal restaurant!! The hotel was spotless and would definately recommend to anyone. It certainly earnt me some brownie points with the mrs for valentines day!! Great value for money.

First class hotel and service by Tour...

First class hotel and service by Tour Company. Very enjoyable holiday for nifty adults who do not mind steps. Ideal for walkers as there are plenty of walks to enjoy the panoramic scenery.
Buffet style meals with plenty of choice. Tennis tournament organised for people to get to know each other. For people who enjoy a quiet, but active holiday. No nightclubs near so no danger of too much disturbing sleep.

This is my 4th visit to this superb hotel with my family including 2 small children. Staff are extremely helpful. Children are made to feel welcome. Food excellent.
Superior rooms excellent. Plenty for everyone to do. Most of all the garden setting and sea views make this a tranquil and relaxing place and just stepping out of your room makes you feel good.
I was very upset to see the bad review and cant match their description with my experience of this hotel.

There is no possible way that this...

There is no possible way that this hotel can get a less than perfect review. The staff are welcoming and if you have any problems there is always some one willing to help you. The rooms are cool and relaxing, the towel card system is simple and effective (and should be explained by your holiday rep when you arrive).
The food there is amazing and the manner in which the staff address you is friendly. I have holidayed there for the past 3 years and am going again this year. There is no where else in the world I would rather be, its pure heaven and when you return you feel as though you never left. You could never be bored there, those that gave the hotel a bad review obviously didn’t give the hotel and the island a chance to work its magic.
If I could, I would up and leave to be there on a permanent basis. This hotel is unable of getting a bad review which is justified.

I feel I should set the record...
8 / 10
Apr 2006, Mr A Fraser

I feel I should set the record straight since this hotel has had an undeserved poor review. We stayed for 7 nights and desperately wished we'd booked for 14. The hotel was very full while we were there, but we found the reception staff extremely helpful (although going to reception always involved a long wait). The towel system was clearly explained at check in and we were given our towel tickets then. Our superior room had a magnificent sea view, the sound of other guests was never a problem, and we didn't notice the air-conditioning either.
It was difficult to make reservations in two of the three restaurants where they were required, because the hotel only takes same-day bookings. The food in these restaurants didn't quite live up to expectations. However, we were happy with the food and service in the buffet restaurant - the trick is to avoid the busiest times, especially when families are eating.
Thomsons made it explicit that the hotel is unsuitable for people with walking difficulties, and it most definitely is - it is on so many levels that every journey involves climbing many steps, let alone the steps at both ends of the beach lift! Our main grouse was that the hotel allows guests to reserve sun loungers round the pool by leaving towels on them, and many get up before 8 a.m. to do so! We think this practice should be stopped - no body on a sun lounger, it's free for you to use!

Booked 10 day stay in superior room...
3 / 10
Apr 2006, Mr G Bury

Booked 10 day stay in superior room at Hotel Jardin Tecina, transferred to 4* hotel in Tenerife after 7 days. Room had sea view as booked.
However walls and ceiling were paper thin and guests on either side and above could plainly be heard. Air conditioning sounded like an old noisy washing machine. Main buffet restaurant was seriously understaffed, with one waiting person per 18+ tables (they remove completed dishes, lay up for next guests, serve your order for wine/water, etc). Almost impossible to have a coffee after dinner as waiter always too busy.
Admittedly hotel was very full during first part of our stay (most guests seemed to stay for 2-3 days only). Only Spanish TV in our room, no satellite. Most staff at reception were basically rude. The booklet you are given on arrival is out of date with wrong information. System for getting towels never explained to us. Arrived down at sea water pool only to be told we had to get tickets at reception for a towel.
Despite the lift there are around 50-60 steep steps to negotiate also (not mentioned in ads). Food ok, nothing special. Nice eating down at sea water pool restaurant but climb back up after meal not so good. All in all a 2-3 star hotel for service with fine views of the sea.
