Palazzino di Corina

This hotel is in a prime location the room was very comfortable the hotel and staff were outstanding we would return to this hotel next time we go to crete absolutley fab.

Great location, fabulous staff, more like a big house, not at all hotel like, spotlessly clean, excellent breakfast, very picturesce, Alana Restaurant behind it so good we ate there each night. Now looking to go back, the weather always helps & the company you are with, but could not fault it - no lift, so take a room on the ground floor.

We stayed here for 3 nights in May. At my request, we booked a junior suite with a balcony and view overlooking the town and harbor. However, after climbing 3 flights of steep stairs every time we went to our room, I had decided by day 2 that the view wasn't worth it. Particularly since the rooftops are covered with TV antennas and solar-powered hot water heaters (ah, for the good old days when Europe was more picturesque). This non-resort hotel attempts to make you feel that you are in a luxury property. We found this not the case. Although the location is great..right in the village, the thumping from the night clubs down the street at closing time was going on every night. Pick your room carefully. We were given a handicapped room with no place to put anything in the bathroom, which only had a shower. no balcony and was very dark and small. we stayed here for a week (the last of the season) in October 2006. The room was perfect in every respect, except the lighting was a bit dim. Great bath and lovely balcony. Each room is different and there is no lift (we were on 2nd floor) so choose your room carefully-we would have been lost without the balcony The courtyard is lovely for breakfast, although too cool for us to try the small pool. Breakfast was quite adequate, but why not FRESH juice and tomatoes etc-it could have been so much better with a little thought. All the... more

A hidden gem down a backstreet of Rethymnon (hint; it's in the street behind the Catholic Church by the port)...the Palazzo de Corina is a great little place. The rooms are comfortable, well furnished with great bathrooms. It isn't trendy, nor is it luxurious...but, a perfect place to stay while in one of Crete's most charming cities. The star attraction of the hotel is its private courtyard with plunge pool (you can turn the jacuzzi and water flow on if you want to exercise or chill out)... and, the breakfast is excellent.
