The Maria Dolores villa is beautiful, when we arrived we thought we were walking into somebody’s own front room and looked twice before entering! The decor and facilities were excellent and the view of the surrounding hills and village in the distance from both balconies was stunning.
Recommendations - there is no name on the villa - arrive in the daylight as we arrived around midnight and the drive up a mountain road with sheer 300 foot drops in an unfamiliar car was daunting to say the least. Also arriving on a Sunday night there were no shops open for that precious bottle of milk for a cup of tea!
The restaurant at the top of the access road only opens when he feels like it and is rather expensive.
All other bars and restaurants are only accessible by car, so no good if you like a drink.
The restaurant in the centre of Frigiliana by the church is on the pricey side but excellent food for a treat.
Frigiliana is a typical Spanish village giving the real feel of Spain but is being developed very quickly.
It is well worth taking the N340 past Nerja and past Mayo after about 1 mile park on the right where you see the national park signs and look down over the cliff to find deserted beaches accessed by foot down a steep sandy track - walk along the pebbly beaches and sit on the rocks to see the wild birds and sea life - perfect.
