Cortijo Nazario Villa, Frigiliana, Spain
Hotel Information
Hotel Description:
A traditional Andalucían cortijo with lovely mountain views. One for sorrow and two for joy is a phrase usually set aside for the appearance of magpies, but we feel that the 'two for joy' part is equally attributable to Maria Delores and Cortijo Nazario, as they share the same stunning mountainous outlook. loading...
Cortijo Nazario Villa Reviews
" Let me start by saying that you will... "

Let me start by saying that you will need a car to stay at this villa, it is 4km on a remote mountain road from Frigiliana. If you want a busy holiday, filled with nightclubs and noise, this villa is most definitely not for you.
If however, you want a relaxing holiday, without being overlooked by neighbours, if you want peace and quiet, and the most amazing views you are ever likely to witness, then I would advise you to book this villa as soon as possible.
There is no point in even attempting to describe the views from the covered terrace. I have photographs, but they do not do them any justice whatsoever. There are limes, avocados and peaches all growing in the garden.
The pool is not very big, but more than adequate, and the BBQ is useful, as there is a cooker and a microwave, but no oven.
There is a restaurant about 200m from the villa which is beautiful, and the owner is an absolute gem, although it is not particularly cheap.
There are shops about ten minutes drive away in Frigiliana, although I would advise going to Nerja (20 mins) where the supermarkets are a lot bigger, and you can get a 1L San Miguel for 50p!
All in all, I cannot recommend this villa strongly enough, there are only two English speaking channels on the TV, but I expect you will be too busy on the terrace, gawping at the stunning sun set to worry about that!

We needed to use the local Medical Centre and the treatment was immediate and very well priced. There's a ceramic shop in Frigiliana which was lovely, full of locally made ceramics. Food, drink and almost everything else were much cheaper to buy than what they would be in the UK. 4 of us ate out every day and in some cases we had 4 main courses plus a bottle of wine for under £16.
A lovely restaurant to visit in Nerha is El Gourmet, run by Irene & Victor. Irene is a delightful person and very genuine. All in all our holiday was great, from the lovely villa to the local shops etc. We will go back again and probably to the same villa. The pool was very private and secluded and clean. Top marks.
