We returned for the second time to Periyali and stayed in a two bedroom bungalow.
The villa was clean and spacious, little touches such as stool, potty and toddler toilet seat in the bathroom and stair gates in the villas with stairs all made life so much easier.
The kitchen was pretty well equipped, plenty of plates, glasses, pots and pans, which were all clean. Fridge/ freezer, cooker and microwave all helped. TV with DVD player was very useful for when it got too hot for children to be outside.
Each villa has a small private plunge pool, which is gated for safety, and there is a larger communal pool and paddling pool by the bar. The bar also served snacks omelettes etc and had a children’s menu.
I could not fault the Turtle club staff, (Kids club) my 4 yr old son was eager to the club every morning and reluctant to leave at lunch time (you can book 4 half days or full days and one evening session each week).
A number of the local restaurants have children's playgrounds although they are not always up to English safety standards. And they all either offer a children's menu or are happy to serve half portions from their main menu, nearly all offer that toddler staple of pasta in some form or another!
Only gripe would be the bed in our villa was rather hard (on a concrete base) as were all the pillows, and perhaps the air conditioning in the villa could be increased as some rooms got uncomfortably hot as the temperatures rose in the heat wave we experienced while out there.
Otherwise a very enjoyable stay and we would consider going back again next year.
