Cool, novelty hotel
This is a very cool, novelty hotel - the rooms are actually caves but its still very comfortable. The service is friendly and I would recommend a stay here.
WE ENJOYED A LOT
Staying at the Cappadocia Cave Suites Hotel was the BEST choice we could've made. Not only was the hotel clean and comfortable, the staff was fantastic and wonderfully accommodating. There are a lot of Cave hotels around , but this was the best that i have seen . We have booked tours and an hot air balloon ride with Cappadocia cave suites. Everything was great. We have enjoyed our tour and hot air balloon ride very much. Their guides are well educated of history . Thank you very much again Cappadocia Cave Suites. We will definetely come back. Loura
Absolutely wonderful
The four of us - us two and our two daughters - stayed there three nights in order to have two full days in the Cappadocia area. I asked for two separate rooms. (They were more than willing to have all four of us share.) Both rooms were wonderful and full of character. See also http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/clugal/Cappadocia Everything in the hotel had the attention to detail you'd hope for in a nice boutique hotel, and it was all was very much in keeping with the local history and tradition. Breakfast was a wonderful open buffet with a large selection, and an evening menu (vegetarian on request) is provided if you want. All the staff bent over backwards to have everything just so for us, including having someone drive us and our hired car to and from Kayseri airport, arranging our balloon flight, sitting down with me with maps they printed out and recommending itineries for our two days, and whatever else came up. The hotel is also located right at the centre of all the places you want to go to. Highly recommended.
Excellent Experience
We stayed for two nights at this beautiful hotel and we really enjoyed everything inside and outside of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and booked for us a tour and the balloon flight that is highly recommendable. Our room was very nice decorated and very clean. Thank you very much to everyone!
What A Great Place
My husband i stayed at the Cappadocia cave suites in October 2007. That was the most amazing place that we have ever been. Place was amazing, the rooms are charming, the food was superb, employees were always smiling and helpful. I can not believe, it got 80 degrees in October and i can not believe any request was major effort for them. During our stay, employees have been very helpful and their room service was working even late night. We have been told that , we have to book dinner in advance if we are going to take at the hotel. One night we eat at the hotel, we both loved the food. It was a unique experience and a pleasure to stay at Cappadocia cave suites.
Disappointed
Contrary to the other opinions, we had a terrible stay. We were in "cave" 102. The room was hot, about 80 degrees, most of the day. We didn't expect A/C, but the room had minimal ventilation through 2 small windows. There was a small breeze if we left the entrance door open. The staff spoke minimal English and any request was a major effort for them. We had difficulty getting a second roll of toilet paper as we had used our allotment for the day. Buffet breakfast was OK. We went to the restaurant for dinner one nite and we're told we couldn't have dinner because it was not part of our tour package. There was one outdoor computer. There was wi-fi near the hotel office, but not in our cave. They advertise room service, but it means they will call a restaurant in town that will deliver to the hotel. Good restaurants in town were a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. As we checked out of the hotel, cave #103 looked much better than ours. We loved Cappadocia. I thought 2 days would have been enough; my wife would recommend 3 days. We had a wonderful guide, Elaine at Yuki tours.
Warm hospitality with a touch of luxury
I never knew staying in a Flinstones-like cave could be so comfortable! Definitely a unique experience. Interesting overlook of the town of Goreme from our room window, but not spectacular. The setting itself while you are walking outside, with the "fairy chimneys" is wonderful however. Cappadocia was the highlight of our stay in Turkey, don't rush and stay one night, there is plenty to see in history and archeology, natural wonders and a proud strong local culture. We stayed three nights, wish we had stayed four. If you have the access, visiting some of the outer villages in the side/pocket canyons will be well worth your time. Sadly, many of the towns are half-empty as the kids move to towns for jobs, leaving the older people. Go soon, many of these towns won't survive long. There is a real touch of warm local hospitality here. Meals are served buffet style in their small restaurant. The cooks are local women who pride on their recipes, so "home cooking" is the byword like your Turkish mother used to make, just don't expect city standards. The hotel and restaurant service is not polished, but sincere. English is not spoken as much here, so if you have a guide with you (we did), will help a lot, otherwise I could see you may have to be a lot more patient. Breakfast is typical Turkish (hard boiled eggs, tomatoes, cold sausage, rolls, oj, etc.). The produce in the local open markets are unbelievable..the volcanic soil must be VERY fertile. So we bought delicious cantelope melons and they were happy to slice them for breakfast each morning. The atmospheric rooms are decorated with local handicrafts. We had a huge sitting room, bedroom and bathroom with separate shower and jacuzzi bath. Beds are average, nothing special. There is cable TV with CNN International and BCC. Rooms were not dust-free, but were fairly clean; it must be difficult to keep them free of the constant drizzling of fine rock from the ceiling. Electrical went out from time to time. There is a mini-bar in the room, but bottled water was supplied gratis. A free internet pc in a covered patio near the office is provided, it is outside however, can be cold/hot depending on weather. This hotel is owned by Cultural Folk Tours of California, you can call them for more info. Right next door is a 5-star luxury cave hotel that is newly opened called Anatolian Houses. When I researched it, prices start at $400-$500 a night, but this is the new top star in town. For whatever reason, the hotel does not list under "Goreme" but under the town of "Neveshir". I have included a picture of that hotel if you are interested, it really is beautiful, but I know nothing of the hygiene or service. There never seemed to be many people in it.
So glad we stayed at CCS!
We just returned from our honeymoon in Turkey, including a 3 day stay at Cappadocia Cave Suites. We could not have been more pleased with the location, views and amenities of the small hotel. Our room (#105) included 3 rooms - a bedroom, dressing room/kitchenette, and bathroom. It was so nice to have a small kitchenette available to chill wine, store breakfast for the next day, etc. The bathroom included a whirlpool tub, which was amazing. There is a lovely outdoor terrace area with tables, chairs and ottomans available for all guests to use. We enjoyed magnificent sunsets from there. Goreme was a lively home base, with many restaurants, small markets and carpet shops. It was an easy 2 minute walk down the hill from the hotel into the center of town. We invited some fellow travellers from our day tour to see our room at Cappadocia Cave Suites after they told us their hotel was less than ideal. They were blown away and got information from reception so they can make a reservation with CCS directly during their next trip. CCS does not offer breakfast, so plan to purchase OJ and bread in town at one of the small markets to keep in your kitchenette.
A wonderful marvelous experience
My husband, sister, inlaws and mother went to Cappadocia for two nights as part of a 2 week trip to Turkey and Greece. Cappadocia Cave Suites are AMAZING and my only regret is that we did not stay there longer! I could have stayed four nights easily and not been bored for one minute. The hotel is built into the side of a tufa mountain, so there is a really wonderful aspect of being very very out of the 'normal' hotel experience there. The rooms - and we booked four for our family so I have seen all versions of their rooms) are all gorgeous and chock full of amenties. The service was OUTSTANDING - really really high end service there. We asked where we could order pizza (delivery!) as the kitchen was closed one night, and not only did they order the pizza, but when it arrived, they paid for it (knowing we would pay them back) and put it on nice plates with silver service, then delivered it to our patio with the wine we asked for! This type of attention to detail awaited us at every moment. The bathrooms and beds are amazing, the entire place is magical and special special special. It is actually worth alot more than they charge. Imagine the Four Seasons experience with a twist of homey charm - that is the Capp Cave Suites.
Loved the hotel
Stayed in one of the fairly chimney suites. Lovely cave room with large comfortable living room and bedroom. Bathroom had a shower and jacuzzi. Very comfortable bed. Outside of the room was a great sitting area where we sipped our espresso and watched the sun set. No a/c but didnt need it in early Sept. Weather was perfect for our trip in Cappadoccia. Only issue (as in most of Turkey) was that if you were a light sleeper, you would hear the mosque call out in the early hours of the day. Buffet breakfast was ok, the dining room was dark. We ate dinner in town which was a five minute walk down.
