My sister-in-law and I stayed at the Dia Apartments and loved the location, 5 minutes away from hersonissos and 10 minutes away up the hill for beautiful greek tavernas. The accommodation is set in lovely gardens and is clean, very well maintained and had everything we needed for our stay. I would definitely go there again.

Best Greek Holiday.
Nikos, Nahgi, Angela and Natalie were fantastic hosts. The apartments were simple, clean and well maintained, and positioned far enough from hectic Hersonnisos centre to feel really greek. Nikos is an absolute hero and meant that my birthday in Crete was one to remember! We will definitely be coming back to these apartments. Cant wait to see all the friendly staff again. Ideal for Families and couples. Check out Georgios place in Old Hersonnisos, best meal in crete, fabulous service. If you are going there, please feed the cats! Mackerel is available in mini-market opposite for 50 cents! Tanith Hampson
Great Holiday at Dia Apartments
Just returned from a week at the Dia apartments, myself and daughter went there for a break. Wonderful place!! The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly and made our stay an enjoyable one. The accommodation was spotlessly clean with a good maid service 5 days out of the 7 we were there. The accommodation is situated halfway up a hill which is quite steep in places so perhaps wouldn't be great for the less able bodied but we coped okay. A few stray cats hung around in the beautiful gardens surrounding the complex and we fed them on tinned sardines and cat biscuits, they were sweet so if you go there please feed them too!! The pool and bar area were again spotlessly clean and very well maintained, the bar sells a good variety of drinks and sells lovely toasties for 2 euros as well as a good variety of ice lollies, something for everyone really. The pool is surrounded by an adequate amount of sun loungers and parasols. Can't say anthing else other than we would 100% go back to the Dia apartments at the drop of a hat. Highly recommended, if you go there I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
great place to stay
Returned from week in dia apartments on 30th june, had a really great time,Nickolas,Angela and Billy(security) were really good fun and always helpfull.Wouldn't advise it to anyone with walking difficulties as hill is long and steep.Lovely villages nearby, had meals in Piskopiano and Koutouloufari, very reasonable.Apartments were fairly new,so clean and tidy with lovely garden area which was great for socializing with neighbours, although air con was expensive(50 euros for a week) so we had a few very warm nights with windows open, but felt safe. The weather was fantastic while we were there in the high 40's,so used the lovely pool alot to cool off.Would go back again, well done Dia. ally and dave
great place to stand at stare
we booked this week long holiday about 12 weeks before we went and i spent a lot of time on the net trying to find out what to expect.there was nothing to worry about as these apartments are great.there was 4 of us staying in an apartment for 4 which had 2 single beds downstairs and a double bed in an upstairs bedroom reached by a wooden staircase.only problem was that the air conditioning was in the bedroom so the downstairs was always really warm at night,so hot that me and a mate slept on the balcony for 5 nights.admittedly we visited during a mini heatwave,45 degrees was recorded a few days on the trot..overall a great holiday with some great staff especially vasillis the night security(did he ever sleep) and some great people that would have been good to have got to know as they created a good atmosphere(3 lads from i guess liverpool judging by the accents)..go here, you will not be disappointed
not the 'RAKI'
Today we have returned from our 2 week stay at Dia apartments,it was more than i hoped it would be,the apartments were lovely and clean, i could safely say we had the best terrace of the lot (room502) the views were amazing! This hotel was not at all noisy, just people having fun! very handy shop next door! The pool was lovely just right for cooling off in after the walk up the hill, which i would say wasnt a bad thing as it keeps the weight off!! The town is lively and very friendly, we went in some of the best resturants.Just a walk up the hill are more towns amazing food and the Dredded RAKI Urggggg!!!! YAMAS, The people that work in this hotel are so nice and very welcoming,it would be nice to have a little more food around the pool area but the toasties for 2 Euros were yummy!! All i can say is this was the best and hottest holiday i have been on and we met some lovely people there that hopefully were keep in touch with! Ps (take loo roll because its not porvided) (lisa and damion from bristol)
Quite & Picture-esque Apartments
The apartments are very pretty and nothing like we've ever staid in before. We staid in an upstairs and downstairs apartment with the bedroom overlooking the lounge area. Although the kitchen area and bathroom were quite small, this was not a problem. The shower was powerful and the fridge a great size for local produce! The water is heated by solar-power so there were no problems with hot water. The views from the balcony are fantastic, the ocean on one side and mountains the other. The apartments are located in a very quiet location, about a 10 minute walk down to the town. The only drawback was the walk up the hill but it just helped to burn off the fabulous food we ate in the restaurants! If we weren't feeling like the walk back up, a taxi ride for abour 5 euros was always an easy option. Being located in the countryside, there were many moisquitoes around but a plug in and anti-moisquitoe body spray kept them away. The house keeping was good, visiting every day to empty bins, and clean towels twice a week. We didn't get a chance to swim in the pool, but again, it looked so peaceful and pretty and quite a few people spent their days just lazying by it. We didn't use the aircon as we thought the charge of 50 euros for the week was a little expensive, but we had a couple of rainy thunderstorms which cooled the air and therefore didn't need it in the end. Overall, we would rate the apartments 4 out of 5, loosing a few marks for the up-hill walk back and the cost for aircon. All other points covering service, friendliness, safety, views and the apartments character are top class. We would definately recommend these apartments to our friends and family.
crazy in july and august
We arrived in the afternoon and was very impressed of the location , it was very quite the appartments were new we stay in dia 2 block , but then at about seven it started to become noisie the appartments were full of young people who partied all night got drunk before they went to the town for a full night of parting and arriving back at about six in the morning. the walk to the town was about 10 mins , the town is a very lively place at night . but during the day very quite . The old villages were about 15mins walk up hill ,they were quite and very pretty and lots of little bars and restuarnts .eating out was never a problem here and they cater for all needs . the beech is not very good you can not get into the sea because of the rocks we ended up spending more time in stalis which is more of a family place and the beech is lovely the bus ride only cost one euro taxi is 7 euros If you have walking difficulties this place is not recommend because which ever way you go it up hill either going or coming back if you are going to dia appartments and want a quite holiday i would say don't go in july and august this is party time for all the young ones and it is just like being on a club18 to 30 holiday
Fantastic Place
My husband and I have just returned from a week in the Dia Apartments and we had a brilliant time there. The whole complex is so well looked after by the owner and his staff. The apartments have a great situation, you have views of both the sea and the mountains with only a 10 minute walk to several old Greek villages. An excellent choice for families and couples with no walking difficulties, however a taxi ride costing just 5 euros will take you to any of these villages. We found all the staff to be so helpful and when we return to Crete we will certainly hope to go back to the Dia.
Excellent Location
The Dia Appartments were an excellent location for our week break in September The staff were friendly, appartments clean, nice pool and bar area and only a short walk into town and €5 in taxi back. I would recommend these appartments for younger holiday makers in July August and for couples and older groups in June September.
Chilling and Partying
We had a great time when we stayed in Dia. The bar staying 24 hours, free sun loungers and it's location were ideal. Billy the night secruity guy and the mangager were really welcoming. Some people found the manager hard to get on with but if you just abide by the simple rules like don't make too much noise when you come home from the clubs and don't break things in the apartment then there's no problem. I asked about the nearest pay phone and the manager offed to let me use his own phone behind the bar. We stayed in a a studio apartment, we both had our privacy and it was well maintained and clean with a lovely balcony for chilling out on in the evening before hitting the town. I would advise anyone to go to these apartments. We really enjoyed
