Michel de la Derriere wanted to build a dream alpine lodge and was willing to go to considerable lengths to achieve his goal. He dismantled a 1927 Russian farmhouse from Petrovitz (some of the wood still bears the scars of the 1941 German occupation) and rebuilt it with a team of Russian craftsmen in the pine forests above La Tania. After years of planning and much sweat and tears, the results are clear for all to see.
