Well, there's no such thing as the perfect holiday! The down sides are that the hotel music is too often and too noisy - the pool music comes on about 1pm and finishes about 1am and unnecessary. The apartment is set high up on a hill but if you walk up the roads it is not... more

Warning, this hotel is up hundreds of steep steps, you get to the hotel and they have more steps! You can get a taxi though and pay each time you go out then you don't have to climb up/down. Music blares out all night long until 3.00am 7 days a week so be prepared for that... more

These apartments are fantastic, rooms - nice size, decorated lovely, maid service 5 days a week. reception - very helpful Staff - very polite and nothing is too much trouble. daytime activites - "dave" the entertainer does killer pool everyday and also water polo (women are undefeated for 9 months). music played around pool area is nice. my wife and i just got back the weather was glorious the cala dor was clean although the pool was very smallthe room was clean but no tv or radio like all the canaries you get hassle off timeshare and restaurants when you go out i found the bar/shopping area tacky with no upmarket restaurants,its all catered for us brits if you like thatsort of thing. a must to do is a boatrip on the superecat and a visit to the waterpark in maspalomas which is much bigger get out of the hotel and have a good look around as it gets a bit boring we wont be... more

Just got back from the Cala D'or in Gran Canaria. Excellent place to be. Entertainment throughout the day is excellent from "young Dave!". Good things on at night too. Womens water polo team undefeated in 9 months! So girls, get yourselves over there to retain our title! Would reccomend to anyone, young or old!

We returned from these apartments yesterday morning and can honestly say they were fantastic. With maid service 5 times a week they were very clean and we didn't come across a nasty insect once!!!! The reception staff are really welcoming and friendly and always seem keen to help. The bar was great for serving light bites during the day. The entertainment seemed fab but being only 24 we tended to be down the centre every night - Tiffany's Welsh Bar really is the place to go (whether your Welsh or not), be warned though don't yawn -... more

we stayed at cala d'or appartments in peurto rico we was a bit worried at first because we couldnt find anything on the net about it well it is fantastic!! dj dave is a fab entertainer really makes u laugh out loud at his dodgy jokes and his hilarious bongo calls! stay at the appartments cos gr8 entertainment then about half 11 go down the many steps (or spend 2 euros!) down to the centre The only place u need 2 go is Linekers it is the best !! cute barmen and nothing but fun never laughed so much! staff really freindly and make u feel gr8.... more

I traveled to La Palma (in Canary Islands,spain) for three days in the beggining of june and it was not easy to find a place to sleep. Almost every option is located in Los Cancajos, a very turistical place in a not very beautiful area. We are guests who meet up with the above mentioned from Bradford. We go to the Cala D'Or every January along with another group of us from Scotland. We have been meeting up with the Bradford lot for 11 years. I would not go anywhere else on the Island. Just got back november 04 .all i can say about the cala d'or is that it is a sun readers paradise with lewd entertainment aimed very low and songs about "giving head" amongst others being played while there are children about was pretty disgusting. on the plus side the rooms where clean and the maid service excellent the guy behind the bar (carlos)? was a good laugh. The cala d'or was great, I have just recently returnrd from a weeks holiday with my girlfriend, and we enjoyed it very much, The rooms were clean and well kept, we did come accross 3 big ugly insects during our stay, but nothing a hard slap with a size 12 sandle dosn't take care of... The maids were very good, they will even do your washing up, and put the pots away. Just returned from the Cala D'or this september. I found the hotel to be great!!!! Dont worry about the stairs i managed to run up them within two mins, it helps work off the beers (well pints of Tropical!!!). James is a complete T~T how the hell he got a job there i dont know. The most excitment he gives is by having a darts compo or playing new kids on the block time after time. Also beware of the large security guard, make a noise in the early hours and you will have him at your door screaming spanish and spitting through the window. I... more
