Had a wonderful week at the Tamarisk Beach Hotel. There is so much to do if you feel the need to do it but on the overhand if you want to relax and chill the option is there. The rooms are basic but lovely and clean and all of the staff are very helpful and cant do enough for you.
Ortakent is a lovely part of the Bodrum Peninsula with such alot to offer. For a lovely evening out go to Veras at the end of the promenade for an all round fantastic evening.

We had a very relaxing, enjoyable...

Jan 2008, Miss S Kelly

We had a very relaxing, enjoyable stay at the Tamarisk Beach hotel. The rooms were small but clean and functional (don't expect a deluxe suite, but for the price it was excellent value for money). The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the Crystal active staff were always on hand to give us a tow back in when the windsurf/ sea kayak drifted a bit far out!
The end of week regatta was brilliant fun and well organised. Also the mid-week barbeque was a great idea to get all the guests socialising together.
As two twenty-something females we would recommend this as a chilled out destination, where you can do as little or as many activities as you wish.

Well....how fantastic this break was!...

Well....how fantastic this break was!
Four of us booked our week away in Turkey not knowing what to expect apart from two things, lots of sun and beach, but oh was it to be much more than that!!!
On our arrival the sun was glaring down on us all and Karin was there with some of her Crystal Active team to welcome and transfer us onto the coaches (with aircon!!) for the short trip to the resort.
Upon arriving at Tamarisk and checking in we were welcomed by all the friendly staff who were more than willing to help us with our bags down through the beautiful gardens to our stunning room.
After unpacking and turning on the much needed aircon we went down for our induction to the resort where we met the rest of the hotel staff and the Crystal team. We were then left to our own devices for the next week to book our trips and get to know all the staff and other guests staying at the hotel.
What a week it was.......
Being that it is a package holiday you don't constantly have guests coming and going all week at the resort making it feel very secure and easier to get to know your neighbours and fellow club active guests. You all arrive on Friday and generally all leave the following Friday - unless your lucky enough to be staying another whole week.
Being 4 'Girls On Tour' we were up for fun and games and definitely stamped our mark on the hotel and Crystal staff in the first few days (or at least we like to think we did).
We were welcomed by the well known Jimmy Nail at Palovera bar and beach, situated just next to the Crystal teams beach hut - many nights spent here enjoying dinner on the beach and half price cocktails at happy hour.
Shopping trips and nights out in Bodrum, Ortakent, Gumbet and Bitez all totally different but enjoyable experiences, with equally fantastic places to eat, drink and dance.
I think the most memorable day for us was the Regatta on Thursday when you can take part in sailing and kayak races organised by team Crystal, and other such unofficial competitions such as ping pong and diving competitions off the pontoon organised by guests at the hotel!!!
Well a week passed and many fantastic cruises, boating trips, windsurfing and sailing experiences later we had to leave, but throughout the whole holiday never once did we feel unsafe, ill-advised or unwelcome. We made many good friends with both guests and staff during the week and it made it very hard to say goodbye, but glad to say the whole experience is one we will be remembering for a long time to come.
All in all, we absolutely loved every minute of our week spent at Tamarisk and definitely look forward to coming back next year!!
Many thanks
GOT

Absolutely fantastic!
Myself and my boyfriend booked a last minute holiday to Tamarisk Beach Hotel and we received so much more than we expected.
The accommodation was spacious and clean, the staff and locals were lovely and the holiday suited us down to the ground!
Where as I am quite happy to lie and read for seven days my boyfriend can't keep still and was able to do water sports activities all day if he wanted - I even had a few lessons and really enjoyed wind surfing.
The food was really nice and really reasonably priced. The highlight was waking up and having breakfast on the beach!
Would recommend to anyone!

My daughter and I booked a last minute holiday here. It was wonderful-the rooms were comfortable, gardens beautifully kept.
Both the hotel staff and crystal staff were delightful. The food was good, local activities advised upon. We even had a Hammam bath in Bodrum on the reps recommendation.
I don't know how they do it at the price! The weather was particularly nice except for 1 day so I can think of no reason not to return!

This is a beautiful family run resort...

Oct 2006, Mrs G Banham

This is a beautiful family run resort of small apartments virtually on the beach A lovely swimming pool and small pool for children.
Good bar and restaurant with fresh local food each day. It is quiet and relaxing .This is one of the best shore based sailing holidays I have had. The staff on the dinghy’s are RYA qualified, there are lasers, picots, darts, kayaks and lots more.
A mini bus (dolmus) will transport you to either Bodrum or Bitez and pick you up again to order.
I was so impressed I am returning in October with my sons who are 20 & 22 as I know they will love it.

Have just returned from the most...
10 / 10
Jun 2006, Mrs S Wilkinson

Have just returned from the most fantastic week at the Tamarisk. This holiday is as active or relaxing as you want it to be. The water sports are available all day and free except for those that require the speed boat. There is a kids club, yoga massages & locally arrange walks, plenty of sightseeing as well. The hotel is small & right on a dark shingle beach (shoes for sea dips recommended), beautiful pool and sun beds round the pool, on the beach & on the grassy areas. There is plenty of shade and always a breeze.
The restaurant serves good cheap food all day & evening. Breakfast is taken by the pool. Linen is changed midweek, sheets as well. Air conditioning, fridges & hairdryers in all rooms. Hotel has a large telly installed for the world cup. There is a really cheap hotel bus that drops & picks up about 4 times a day to Bitez & Bodrum, both worth a visit. The hotel is a 15min walk along the beach from Ortakent Yahsi, plenty of places to eat- all cheap, would recommend Veiras who even gave us a lift home after our meal. Taxis to Bitez cheap.
The hotel staff are Turkish & the wate rsports team British and all really friendly.
I haven't got a bad thing to say about the entire holiday & am already looking to go back. We took teenage girls (17yrs) & they loved it also. Quite a mix of people in the hotel from families, couples to young groups.

Simply Travel have got to be the best...
9 / 10
Jun 2005, Mrs C Davidson

Simply Travel have got to be the best company ever to go with. Arriving at a very hot airport we were greeted by an intelligent courier called Sue who lives in Turkey and gave us a very welcome ice cold bottle of water each.
On the coach she came round with the Turkish greeting of sweets and lemon cologne to freshen us. At the hotel we were greeted with a cold drink and taken straight away to our room on the ground floor with its own grape vine, roses and geraniums on the patio.
The rooms are spotless, the breakfast variety is very good. Its a wonderful small hotel where you get to feel part of the family. They can’t do enough for you. The pool is very clean with a separate section for the children. Its right on the beach and is great for water sports although the beach is very pebbly and you probably need jellies to get in. It was freezing in June but we are told a lot warmer in September when we hope to return. There is a cool breeze to enjoy whilst laying on one of their hammocks by the beach.
It is very quiet here and excellent for relaxing. No loud music. They had a wonderful family type barbeque on the beach which was a great evening though.
Their lunch and dinner menu were good and the food excellent. They also take you free into Bodrum by their mini bus on the half hour and if you want to stay later than the last bus at 11.30 you can come back by taxi which was not that expensive.
Bodrum has some wonderful harbours and round by the castle you can sit by the water and enjoy wonderful cuisine and good service. It’s also marvellous for anyone who is vegetarian as I have never seen so many varied veggie alternatives. Its also great for shopping and you can get copy designer bags and wonderful silver jewellery.
Don’t take travellers cheques as you will pay through the nose for the commission. Take either Turkish or English money. They will also take Euros.
