Second Home
from nettamaw
Anniska is our second home! We have been returning here every June for the past 14 years! The position overlooking the sea, the spotless rooms, mountains behind, stunning sunsets and a village, not too big but with good tavernas and bars which are all very welcoming. But above all these assets is one thing that makes Anniska/Liakoto extra special - the Paliatseas family and their staff who own and run the 2 hotels. Fotis and Anna who built and ran the business, now being run by their son Ileas and Gerry, his wife. Anniska is now in the throes of being refurbished to a very high standard- we now have a walk-in shower in 'our' room! We're really looking forward to seeing the new bar and terrace from which there are lovely views. Over the years we have made friends with other guests from all over Europe who return every year as well. The area around and south of Kardamili is unique. Wonderful villages, mountain and gorge walks. I can't wait to have my early morning swim and breakfast on the terrace watching the baby swifts learning how to fly. I could carry on singing the praises of Anniska/Liakoto - but come and find out for yourself!
a fantastic, authentic greek experience
from Kardamyli_Groupie
My parents, sister and I have been coming to this hotel for over 10 years, which surely should be enough to demonstrate what a wonderful place we believe anniska to be. It is in a beautiful location, right on the sea front and in almost every room there is a wonderful view either of the sea or the montains immediately behind. Kardamyli itself is also extremely pictuersque and without too many tourists you still experience an authentic greek village which not possible in many of the neighbouring areas because of being over run with foreigners. However places like Stoupa are still close enough that younger visitors can still experience the night life and then return to Kardamyli's calming atmosphere. The rooms in the hotel, having been recently refurbished, have everything you need (including DVD players), with very up to date appliances and there is a beautiful bar area where you can relax over looking the sea. One of the hotels has a swimming pool although the sea is also 30seconds walk away...with many other beaches only a short distance away in the car. However the best thing about this hotel is the kind family who own it and go out of their way to make anniska a great experience for each and everyone of their guests! Over the ten years that we have been visiting it has been run by different family members, finally coming to rest in the more than capable hands of Illia and Gerry who treat the guests like family. This allows the guests a relaxing and truely enjoyable holiday from the moment they check in! I would immediately recommend this hotel to anyone...families, adults and children as a wonderful holiday for all.
Just Perfect
from bot17
My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Liakoto for a week and we had a great apartment with sea view on the one side and mountain view on the other side. The apartment was spotlessly clean, with nice furniture, a well-equipped kitchen, T.V., air-conditioning/heating and further nice details (e.g. organic shampoo and body lotion in the bathroom). The hotel is situated right at the coast, within a stone's throw of the center of Kardamily, where you can find a post office, cafes, supermarkets and a bakery. Gerry, the owner of the hotel, was extremely friendly and helpful. She provided us with information about the next supermarket, a nice taverna, where to walk and much more. The last day, she even dropped over with traditional greek sweets! Our stay was absolutely relaxing and we really enjoyed being at the Hotel Liakoto!
The Perfect Getaway Hotel
from Virgo_Monica
This was my first proper 'relax and do nothing holiday' as an adult. My boyfriend and I stayed at Anniska for 10 days in the supposed height of the tourist season and couldn't have found it more relaxing. The hosts Illia and Gerry were incredibly hospitable without being intrusive. The apartment was fabulous, with the most beautiful views and the village itself was a far cry from over-populated tourist traps that exist further along the coast. Whilst I'm not a fan of returning to places for holidays, if I am looking for another relaxing by the beach and reading type holiday I would return in a heartbeat.
The gods smiled on hotel Anniska
from ACarolinaGirl26
Our room was on the top floor with a private balcony from where we had forever views of a tranquil Mediterranean bay. At night we sat on our balcony, sipped wine, and enjoyed traditional Greek music rising from the hotel's terrace restaurant. Which, by the way, I highly recommend (The best Calamari I've ever put in my mouth). Anniska is tucked away at the end of what seems to be an ally, (but suddenly opens up to the ocean) in the small resort town of Kardamila. In the mornings there is great coffee and fresh squeezed OJ. The owner was so incredibly friendly and helpful. He took ample time to chat with us and gave directions to some phenomenal local beaches. Tranquil, authentic, and clean, Hotel Anniska was one of the highlights of our month long backpacking trip through Europe. Why stay anywhere else?
Very special place the Liakota
from allisonJG
We stayed at the Liakota in Aug 07, having previously stayed in Kardamyli some years before (pre children). We had a great time at the Liakota, Gerry and Ilias really do care, they run a spotless family business, which manages to be efficient and also very relaxing all at the same time, quite an achievement.!Our family had a wonderful time (children 6 and 3) and the girls still talk about the Liakoto as their favourite place we stayed at in Greece. Spotlessly clean room, relaxing pool, great location and free internet access.........perfect! My only hesitation is to share it!
Peaceful with fantastic views
from UKTraveller058
We stayed at Liakoto which is the sister hotel, also run by Gerry & Ilia. Our room had great views... the balcony to the front looked at the mountains, and the one to the rear overlooked the sea giving fantastic sunsets. The room was large, well equipped with the sort of touches normally found in 4 and 5 star hotels such as bathrobes, fluffy white towels, complimentary designer shampoos & conditioners. Liakoto has a small pool, a bar, friendly staff... and Gerry & Ilia were always on hand to give unbiased advice on places to eat, or visit. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday, at a place with great views and understated but professional attention you'd have to go a long way to beat it.
Lovely Liakoto!!
from smalltraveller
We have recently returned to Sydney after a lovely stay at the Hotel Liakoto. Being literally on the other side of the world, it was wonderful to find a place with all the comforts of home as well as some lovely luxury touches. Our room on the top floor of Liakoto had some of the most incredible views I have ever experienced in a hotel - from the mountains to the sea, and the hotel itself was right on the water's edge. We awoke each morning to the most beautiful sea view right outside our bedroom window - with only the occasional bird obscuring our view! It was tempting to want to stay in bed with the doors open, but the beautiful Greek coast lured us out to explore. When we were feeling more social, the terrace bar in the neighbouring Anniska was ours to use and meet the other guests - all as lovely as our hosts Ilia and Gerry, and just as taken with the properties as we were. Our pentouse appartment in Liakoto was practical and spotlessly clean with all of the comforts of home plus some lovely little luxuries like water and fruit in the fridge, and gorgeous Korres homeopathic products in the bathroom. Our balconies on both sides made it hard to chose between the sea or mountain view! The bedroom and bedlinen were lovely, and the bathroom and kitchen were practical and spacious. I can't recommend these hotels highly enough - we were lucky enough to have a preview of the newly refurbished rooms in Anniska, which looked just as lovely, but our photos will give you an idea of our experience at Liakoto. If you are thinking of travelling to this divine part of Greece, make sure you check out one of these lovely two properties - you won't be disappointed!
An Outstanding Place to Stay
from UKHappy-Wanderer
We have just returned form a lovely week in the Anniska Hotel. The rooms and service are superb; all the better since the room upgrade work has been undertaken. We were very fortunate in that we had a seaview room directly on the seashore. The evening sun added to the brilliance of the hotel and the holiday. There are some great walks in the inland hills and villages, offering stunning views and glimpses of village life you thought had vanished in the 21 century! The paths are waymarked quite well and details of the wide range of walks can be found in the excellent hiking map available at the local supermarket (5.5 Euros). The map has a green cover and is titled 'Mani. Kardhamili - Stoupa'.
