El Nogal Hotel

I went to this hotel with mixed feelings having read the reviews from other customers after I had booked.
However, it was not expensive and we needed a quiet break in the sun so we were not expecting too much. The hotel was lovely, the gardens beautiful and the staff became friendlier as the week progressed.
Our superior room was disappointing but we looked in other rooms when the cleaners left the doors open and decided that maybe ours was a bit larger than some others. We were also in the older part of the building and it was very quiet.
Breakfast was a bit of a letdown with no fresh fruit juices or tea/coffee - they came out of a vending machine but there was a large enough selection of bread, cereal, cheese and ham, fruit, yogurt and cooked eggs that we were able find things to our liking.
The evening menu for guests on half board was a choice of three items for each course and we found something to our liking each night. Service could be a bit slow but as you are on holiday, that does not matter.
Guests on B & B had a choice from the full menu. We picked from this same menu at lunchtime and although the portions were too large for lunch, the meals were very good.
I would suggest that unless you intend to stay in the hotel that you hire a car from the airport.
We asked at reception if they could arrange a car for us and were told that we would have to go down the airport to collect one and according to the Receptionist, the buses were not very regular.
However, we called our rep and she was able to arrange a car that could be dropped off at the hotel.
