Hi
Just needed to reply to someone who has booked to stay this christmas at caletta gardens.
We stayed last december for 2 weeks and apart from some typical yobs on christmas night had a fantastic stay.
The hotel is in perfect position its basic but then its only basic prices too.
Its clean and staff are very accomodating.
We are going again this year but not over christmas day this time were going 27th dec for 3 weeks and we cant wait.
In answer to your question regarding a restaurant theres a chinese restaurant oposite caletta gardens well theres 2 in fact but the one id reccommend is to the left as you come out of the front of the hotel i think its called china buffet theyre lovely in there and the foods lovely the ex pats from uk go there. The one to the right give it a miss the foods not very nice there.
Also theres a bar called slap and tickle which is run by liverpudlians are theyre fantastic, foods good entertainments fantastic a really good night out.
So dont be worrying you'll always get moaners on here and any other review site but honestly its fine at caletta gardens and im sure as long as your not expecting the ritz you'll have a lovely time.
may see you there!!
last year we took 11 this year theres 9 of us.

I know I went over a year ago now and things may have changed alot now. But the main problem I found was where my room was at the back of the hotel had a path or road after our terrace. We seemed to find our sliding door was broken and people had explained that they were getting robbed!!! the people next to us to us got robbed and the people next to them, even when you locked the sliding door they could still be pulled open!!, we had to shove a chair by our door to stop it from opening, the amount of people we saw in reception crying cause someone had broken in and stole their stuff. We complained and got moved thankfully, I just thought i would add this :D

Its always a bit of a concern when booking holidays on the Net, but after using Travel Republic for the 1st time i have nothing but praise for the company. No problems at all and speaking to other people at our hotel, we seemed to get a great deal!
When we first arrived our only concern was that Caleta Gardens appeared to be quite small, however this turned out to be one of its best qualities as it only took a day or two for our children and ourselves to make friends.Caleta Gardens is Clean and all the staff are brilliant. The entertaint team of Tony, Sandra and Camilla are fabulous, as are barstaff Mackie and Anna. There was always plenty to choose from at the resturaunt for Breakfast and Dinner and the quality of the food was exellent. We went all inclusive and i would certainly recommend this, we saved a fortune on drinks and snacks alone.
The only critism i think i could make is that they seem a little under staffed at times and service could be slow.
All in all though this was one of our best holidays ever and we shall be booking again for next year.

The Caletta Gardens is one of those places that is a fantastic base if you want to stay in this resort. Its central, but not too noisey and the staff there are welcoming and very friendly. I can understand some of the comments on this site about the ground floor rooms which are below ground level but we were fortunate enough to have a second floor room overlooking the pool that was absolutley fantastic. We have two children aged 5 & 9 and they loved everything about it. Everything was very clean, although it is true that the shower does get a little HOT sometimes. I would advise anyone using these apartments to go self catering because the restuarant there wasn't up to much as was the bar that was a bit understaffed.
However because of its central location you are surrounded by loads of bars and restaurants that are lovely to eat at.
We particularly enjoyed an italian restaurant near the shopping centre called Bodequita that does lovely pizzas. The staff next door at Paprika's are also lovely if you want to sit and watch the kids in the park while you have a beer. Also if you get chance pop down to Pierro's one night. Definitley an experince that all four of us would want to repeat in the future.

Spent 2 weeks at caleta gardens and have to agree with the other posts DO NOT BOOK! it was terrible. if you want to stand at the pool at 8am to reserve your sunbed then this is the holiday for you. If you want to spend half an hour waiting to get served at happy hour then this is also the holiday for you. it is what some of the others said on here a 'budget' holiday.
The sleeping arrangements are horrible, it was like being in prison. my son (6) slept in the bedroom with my daughter (1) who had a cot which had a horrible plastic mattress. my husband & i slept on the pull out sofa, it had slats missing and was made out of sweaty foam and was so bobbly and worn (had pubes on it UGH!). The toilet was broken and kept flushing all the time, the kettle didnt turn istelf off and my husband got an electric shock off the light switch. The hot water was very good, but kepr gtting blasts of scalding water every minute of so.
All in all caleta gardens was awful, but the lovely beaches made it for us and the weather, but we would choose better accomadation next time. Hope this helps.

centrally located, very clean appartment's on 1st floor level, lower level smelt of cats, very dark lightingon lower level.enterainment available never went, our 14 year old son enjoyed some entertainment, water polo, football, dart's.only fault with kid's club was that mian man (Tony)smoked in front of all the children.bar staff were friendly but over worked, thus leaving you waiting to be served for quite a long time, would go again weather was lovely

stayed here for 2 days (absolutely awful). ants all over room ,cupboards.Cot was filthy and writing all over it, ants in mattress. No lunch even though we were all inclusive.Snacks round pool were short in supply, and finished well before the stated time.Food was biggest reason for moving , choice was very very poor.1 scruffy women seemingly doing the lot ,hygeine very poor .Table we sat at in morning still same stained paper table cover in evening ,ants on floor , coffee not drinkable. .Childrens playpark closed because slide broken. Shower round pool was broken ,all machines had out of order signs on them which look as though they had been like that for a while. no parasols round pool.In apartment toilet handle ,shower rail broke ,fridge door and kitchen cupboard door broke. no air conditioning.no plug in bath , pay for tv, our 18 month old picked up a large piece of glass from outside bar area which must have fallen from picture frame , we informed barman who didnt seem concerned and eventually removed rest of picture but didnt clean where glass had fallen on floor. If you are AI do not stay here ,we moved to Costa Caleta Hotel a few hundred yards away, but it felt like we had gone from a 1 star to a 5 star .In my opinion Caleta Gardens is going downhill rapidly it says it is a 3 star but on next inspection it would be lucky to acheive a 1 star it is a old run down property with health and safety problems and has too few staff and below standard food .

Having read the reviews here before booking this holiday, I now regret going. Several reasons really and although the hotel is 'budget' but clean. It is understaffed, and a complete waste of time as AI. First day spent 15 mintues argueing with bar staff over why I hadn't had the identifying wrist band for AI when infact reception had run out of them. Next is the fact its almost impossible to get a bed around the pool for towel hatchers, common I know but three people around the pool and the rest towels?. Then theres the Loooong waits to get any service at the bar- annoying if your a customer doubly so if your AI, 20 mins isnt that unusual with no-one at the bar. Heard a group of 4 different couples break into song 'why are we waiting?' and start ringing the bells at the bar after 15 minutes into happy hour not one person was being served. Couldnt open windows or patio doors because of the bugs bitting (was ground floor) and cockroaches running in from garden(you can expect to see one or two in the canaries but this was bad). Not sure if my daughters hospital visit is down to the food but I personally think it was. Tony was the best thing the site had- what a gem. You could hear the staff complain they couldnt cope. I have gone to a 'cheaper' hotel apartments on AI in Jandia and CGA's had nothing on that.
Oh yes don't travel with the cooperative travel through apollo travel with youtravel.com as reps(that level of confusion alone should explain why). The only help I got there was from other reps(TC and Thompson).
Hope no one else gets the same annoyance.

i went to caleta de fuste with my mum and sister for a short break and loved every minute! the weather was fantastic every day considering it was only april it felt like summer!
tony the rep onsite was great with the kids and took his time to get to know everyone staying there ...he makes the hotel, as we didnt get to know any of the other staff there.
plenty of restaurants nearby lots of chinese including an all you can eat directly across from the apartments.
the apartment itself had a smallish kitchen but with everything you needed including a toastie maker which we found a must have in all self catering holidays!
a bathroom with a small bath and shower head a bedroom with 2 single beds drawers and large wardrobe and then the main room with a pul out sofa bed t.v and reasonably sized balcony.
make sure you visit the flower of scotland it was open every night till 3 and seemed to be the livliest bar nearby. the dj brian was fantastic and there was a brill atmosphere in there every night...lots of karaoke!
i'm 18 and my sister 21 were more than pleased with the entertainment considering it was only a quiet get away for the week but it turned out we were out every night till closing time!
i wouldn't hesitate to return!

Simple accommodation in a very central location, great entertainment day and night provided by Tony and the Girls, who were excellent and helped make the holiday. We had a one bedroom apartment no341 on the top floor overlooking the bar area. Noise was not a problem, but there are a lot of steps in the apartments, think twice if you are not that mobile. We had a four old with us and managed ok. The pool is just about big enough, no problems with sunbeds, there were always some availiable. The downside is that the whole complex is looking a bit run down and could do with a refurb. We had a nice holiday and would go back, we had a bargain holiday in simple straight forward acommodation, you get what you pay for I suppose.
No real complaints, be careful of the lift as the doord close very quickly and one of you can easily be left outside!!!!
Reception was good and friendly with english widely spoken.
Happy hours were great 2 for 1 on local drinks, but if the Spanish Woman is working who does not speak a lot of english you get every drink 2 for 1 !!!!
Happy holiday
