Capo d'Orso Hotel

I am confused as to why myself and the four reviewers proceeding me are of a similar opinion, yet there were so many great views before. I cannot imagine that the Hotel Capo D'Orso has changed dramatically during the past month, although it is clear that September is end of season. The hotel's location is beautiful, quiet and secluded, with a pretty beach and private marina. We had 2 weeks honeymoon in Capo d'Orso. It is a romantic, quiet location for couples, not families. Wonderful 4 course dinner every night with a piano playing, harp playing at breakfast. All very sophisticated and relaxed. Hotel is clean, staff friendly, great service. We stayed in a delux room with sea view. Wonderful! Perfect as a honeymoon location or a hotel to stay at for a special anniversary with your loved one. Highly recommended.

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at Hotel Capo d'Orso and, having read the hype, were very disappointed to say the least. Our room was actually on 2 levels with the bathroom downstairs and the bedroom upstairs. This was very inconvenient especially at night. There was not always a plentiful supply of hot water and we also had a problem with ants but, otherwise, the room was just about ok. Just to confrim we were put in room 504 on arrival at around 6 pm Saturday 9 Sept. I noticed a couple of ants and squidged them then realised the whole place was infested, there were hundreds in the bedroom and bathroom. We complained and asked to be moved only to be told they would send a 'man' to look at it and there were no other rooms. Tempted by the brochures and the positive comments on Trip Advisor we booked our stay. We have just returned (16 September) and it is clear that the staff are on wind down. The service in the restaurants is good one minute and poor the next. We encountered problems with the dinners - one of our party was vegetarian which we were told was no problem ... you tell us what you want (which you have to do at breakfast!) and we will see what we can do. i often base my hotel selection on reviews on tripadvisor and this is the first time i have been extremely disappointed. the hotel capo d'orso is situated beautifully but i find that the design and construction of the hotel and the way that it is run has ruined what could have been a beautiful holiday experience the hotel is part of the delphina group which runs about 8 properties around sardinia. after our experience here, i would be very careful at booking another one of their properties again i spent 2 weeks in sardinia and... more

Im 26 and my girlfriend is 21 I used to work in a chain of 5star hotels so I think Im qualified to write some feedback for people looking at this hotel, hope its helpfull! We stayed at Hotel Capo D’Orso for 7 nights in May. We found the staff absolutely wonderful – professional, attentive, discrete and eager to meet requests quickly and efficiently – and the food absolutely out of this world: fresh local fish and seafood, handmade pastas, interesting antipasti and divine desserts. Service at dinner too was highly organized, with plenty of staff to ensure a most smooth and enjoyable experience; the harp being played at breakfast was a nice touch and pleasant way to start the day. My wife and I stayed for a 5 night break to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We were looking for a place that was quiet and a little up market and the Capo D'Orso seemed to fit the bill. NOTE - LOOK AT MY TIPS AT THE END OF THIS REVIEW Our overall impression of the hotel was just fantastic ideally suited to those looking for peace and quiet. We went for a 2 week holiday to wind down from busy London life, and the Capo D'Orso was absolutely fabulous! There are two small private sandy beaches with really shallow water out to sea - so great for young kids if you have them, but also lovely just to be able to walk out in the sea. There's also a diving jetty in a separate area where there are more rocks (so more fish to see) and a swimming pool - the area around the pool fills up fairly quickly so if you do want to sit there then make sure you can get up early and pop a towel down.... more
