We have just returned from Paxos, staying at Rita's cottage, Lakka. The location was a 10 minute walk from Lakka, which had bars, restaurants and a fabulous harbour. Our villa with is own private pool was hidden, the villa itself was perfect for what we wanted, the only downside was it could have done with air-con in the bedrooms, there was air-con in the living/kitchen, and even with all the doors open we could not feel the effect, but saying that we only had 2 nights of bad sleep due to the temperature outside. I would recommend Paxos to anyone who likes unspoilt, low-key, layed back atmosphere. Paxos is the place to go.

We stayed in Rita's Cottage for 1 week in May 2009 and it was absoultely lovely. Very picturesque and quiet. The villa itself is up a steep lane which means it has a great secluded/private feel to it and is not overlooked by other buildings. Have given the property an 8 as it was very basic and the bed was the hardest I think i've ever slept in! Having said this it was very clean and the pool area cannot be faulted.
Paxos is very sleepy especially as we went very early in the season, for a little more life we headed down to Gaios in the evenings. The best way to see the island is by walking, we brought a walking map fairly cheaply in Lakka and did a cliff top walk where the scenary was spectacular.
Having a car was invaluable as we drove all over the island (around 15mins from Lakka to Gaios). However I think if we'd spent 2 weeks on the island we'd have run out of places to see and things to do.
In conclusion it was a fantastic 1 week break and I would definetly recommend the villa and Paxos.
